Kharagpur, The electric crematorium at kharida Mandir talab shamshan ghat was inaugurated by Pranab Biswas ADM (G)West Medinipur district. On this occasion, ADM (G) Pranab Biswas said that inauguration is being done keeping in mind the corona patients, we do not want any untoward incident but more people are not required to burn the dead bodies in the electric crematorium and social distancing Can also be taken care of. He also expressed concern over people not following social distancing. Describing it as another step to the development of Kharagpur, MLA Pradip Sarkar said that the town has got its first electrification house which was expected for a long time. It took two years to build an electrified house built at a cost of one crore 65 lakh. There are two chambers in the crematorium, currently work will start in onlyone chamber and ordinarily the cremation program will be completed in 45 minutes. It will take approx 2,500 rupees to burn the body. To operate the crematorium, a specialist operator will be required, which has not been decided yet, after the appointment of the operator, the work of electric cremation will start.

TMC Councilor Kalyani Ghosh told  a meeting will be held for operator, after which work can be started. ADM (G) Pranab Biswas inspect the ongoing development work in the Mandir talab shamshan ghat complex. Reacting to the inauguration of the electric crematorium here, BJP leader Abhishek Agrawal said that the cremation work could not be started despite the twice inauguration first was done by CM itself. He said that even in the crisis of Corona, when social distancing is to be done, TMC MLA mobilized party leaders and workers to made it an issue of publicity, which is regrettable, while the TMC says that the opposition party should accept the development works with an open mind. Vaibhav Chaudhary, SDO of Kharagpur, ASP Kazi Shamsuddin Ahmed of Kharagpur, Municipal Chairman Pradeep Sarkar, IC kgp (t) Raja Mukherjee, Councilor Jagdamba Gupta, Venkataramana, Dipendu Pal and others were present on the occasion.
