“ऑपरेशन जीवन रक्षा” के तहत RPF की तेज़ कार्रवाई

चल रहे “ऑपरेशन जीवन रक्षा” के तहत, रेलवे प्रोटेक्शन फ़ोर्स (RPF) ने एक बार फिर संतरागाछी रेलवे स्टेशन पर एक संभावित हादसे को रोककर यात्रियों की सुरक्षा के लिए बहुत ज़्यादा सतर्कता और लगन दिखाई।

जब ट्रेन नंबर 18410 सुबह करीब 08:37 बजे संतरागाछी रेलवे स्टेशन के प्लेटफ़ॉर्म नंबर 01 पर पहुँची, तो एक यात्री ने ट्रेन के चलने के बाद उससे उतरने की कोशिश की। इस असुरक्षित काम के दौरान, यात्री का पैर चलती ट्रेन और प्लेटफ़ॉर्म के बीच फँस गया, जिससे गंभीर दुर्घटना के खतरे के साथ बहुत खतरनाक स्थिति बन गई।

घटना को तुरंत देखते हुए, ड्यूटी पर मौजूद RPF स्टाफ़ ने तुरंत और सूझबूझ से काम लिया और तुरंत इमरजेंसी कार्रवाई की। समय पर और निर्णायक दखल से, यात्री को ट्रेन और प्लेटफ़ॉर्म के बीच से सुरक्षित निकाल लिया गया, जिससे एक बड़ा हादसा टल गया।

अच्छी बात यह है कि बचाए गए यात्री को कोई चोट नहीं आई और वह पूरी तरह से सुरक्षित पाया गया। इसके बाद RPF स्टाफ ने उसे सुरक्षित यात्रा के तरीकों और चलती ट्रेनों में चढ़ने या उतरने से बचने के महत्व के बारे में सलाह दी। पूछताछ करने पर, यात्री ने बताया कि वह अपने परिवार के साथ पुरी से शालीमार जा रहा था।

ऑपरेशन जीवन रक्षा के तहत RPF की तुरंत प्रतिक्रिया और पेशेवर व्यवहार एक बार फिर रेल यात्रियों की सुरक्षा और भलाई सुनिश्चित करने के लिए फोर्स के पक्के इरादे को दिखाता है।

Swift RPF Action under “Operation Jeevan Raksha” at Santragachi Station

Kharagpur, 03.02.2026

Under the ongoing “Operation Jeevan Raksha”, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) once again demonstrated exceptional alertness and dedication to passenger safety by preventing a potential mishap at Santragachi Railway Station.

On arrival of Train No. 18410 at Platform No. 01, Santragachi Railway Station at about 08:37 hrs, a passenger attempted to deboard the train after it had already started moving. During this unsafe act, the passenger’s leg got trapped between the moving train and the platform, creating a highly dangerous situation with the risk of a serious accident.

Noticing the incident instantly, the on-duty RPF staff reacted with promptness and presence of mind and took immediate emergency action. With timely and decisive intervention, the passenger was safely rescued from between the train and the platform, thereby averting a major tragedy.

Fortunately, the rescued passenger did not sustain any injury and was found to be completely safe. He was subsequently counselled by RPF staff regarding safe travel practices and the importance of avoiding boarding or deboarding from moving trains. Upon enquiry, the passenger disclosed that he was travelling along with his family from Puri to Shalimar.

The quick response and professional conduct of the RPF under Operation Jeevan Raksha once again highlights the force’s unwavering commitment towards ensuring the safety and well-being of railway passengers.

Rs. 2,78,000 करोड़ के बड़े यूनियन बजट एलोकेशन से मज़बूत होकर, रेलवे सुरक्षा उपायों, माल ढुलाई के काम और हाई-स्पीड कनेक्टिविटी में इन्वेस्टमेंट को प्राथमिकता दे रहा है। 2026-27 में पश्चिम बंगाल, झारखंड और ओडिशा में रेलवे के लिए बजट ग्रांट में काफ़ी बढ़ोतरी हुई है। नई दिल्ली से वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के ज़रिए एक प्रेस मीट को संबोधित करते हुए, माननीय रेल मंत्री, श्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने कहा कि रेलवे से जुड़े यूनियन बजट (2026-27) में बड़ा एलोकेशन किया गया है।

इस यूनियन बजट में, पश्चिम बंगाल राज्य के लिए Rs. 14,205 करोड़ का एलोकेशन किया गया है, जो 2009-2014 के दौरान किए गए Rs. 4380 करोड़ के एलोकेशन से तीन गुना ज़्यादा है। पश्चिम बंगाल में 101 स्टेशनों को अमृत स्टेशनों के तौर पर रीडेवलप किया जा रहा है। पश्चिम बंगाल में अभी लगभग Rs. 92,974 Cr के काम चल रहे हैं। इस बड़े इन्वेस्टमेंट में पूरे राज्य में ट्रैक बनाना, स्टेशन रीडेवलपमेंट और सुरक्षा बढ़ाना शामिल है। राज्य में वर्तमान में वंदे भारत ट्रेनों की 09 जोड़ी चल रही हैं। वंदे भारत स्लीपर एक्सप्रेस: ​​1 जोड़ी सेवाएं वर्तमान में चालू हैं। राज्य में अमृत भारत एक्सप्रेस सेवाओं की 11 जोड़ी वर्तमान में चालू हैं।

पिछले 10 वर्षों में लगभग 1400 किलोमीटर नई रेलवे पटरियां बिछाई गईं। राज्य ने 2014 से 1,712 किलोमीटर रेल लाइनों के विद्युतीकरण के साथ 100% विद्युतीकरण हासिल किया है। पिछले 11 वर्षों के दौरान 523 फ्लाईओवर और अंडरपास का निर्माण। पश्चिम बंगाल राज्य में कवच की स्थापना के लिए कुल 3200 रूट किमी मंजूर किए गए हैं। इस साल के बजट में 7 नए हाई-स्पीड कॉरिडोर की घोषणा की गई थी। पश्चिम बंगाल को वाराणसी से सिलीगुड़ी तक नए प्रस्तावित हाई-स्पीड कॉरिडोर के लिए अपनी पहली बुलेट ट्रेन मिलेगी। दानकुनी से सूरत तक एक नया फ्रेट कॉरिडोर पश्चिम बंगाल, ओडिशा, छत्तीसगढ़, मध्य प्रदेश, महाराष्ट्र और गुजरात को कवर करते हुए निर्बाध रसद और माल ढुलाई सुनिश्चित करेगा। पिछले 11 सालों में कोलकाता मेट्रो के लिए 45 km नए ट्रैक बिछाए गए।

DRM खड़गपुर, श्री ललित मोहन पांडे ने वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के दौरान मौजूद प्रेस और मीडिया के लोगों को बजट ग्रांट और खड़गपुर डिवीजन में चल रहे अलग-अलग डेवलपमेंट कामों के बारे में जानकारी दी। मीडिया के सवालों का जवाब देते हुए, DRM खड़गपुर ने बताया कि 3 नई लाइनें बिछाने के रेलवे प्रोजेक्ट: कांथी-एगरा नई लाइन, नंदकुमार-बलाईपांडा नई लाइन, और नंदीग्राम-कंदियामारी नई लाइन को रेलवे बोर्ड ने डीफ्रॉस्ट कर दिया है और काम बहुत जल्द शुरू हो जाएगा। उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि डिवीजन डिवीजन से गुजरने वाली सबअर्बन और एक्सप्रेस ट्रेनों की पंक्चुएलिटी पर करीब से नज़र रख रहा है और ट्रेन सर्विस को समय पर चलाने के लिए सभी कदम उठाए जा रहे हैं। उन्होंने चल रहे कामों की स्थिति और दूसरे मामलों के बारे में मीडिया वालों के उठाए गए अलग-अलग सवालों के भी जवाब दिए।

RECORD BUDGET ALLOCATION FOR RAILWAYS (2026-27) INCLUDING WEST BENGAL, JHARKHAND AND ODISHA

Empowered by a significant Union Budget allocation of Rs. 2,78,000 crores, the Railways is prioritizing investments in safety measures, freight operations, and high-speed connectivity. There has been a remarkable increase in Budget Grant for Railways in West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha in 2026-27. Addressing a press meet through video conferencing from New Delhi, Hon’ble Railway Minister, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw said that there has been a big allocation in the Union Budget (2026-27) pertaining to Railways.

In this union budget, an allocation of Rs. 14,205 crores have been made for the state of West Bengal, which is three times more than the allocation of Rs. 4380 crores made during 2009–2014. 101 stations in West Bengal are being redeveloped as Amrit stations. Works of around Rs. 92,974 Cr worth are presently under progress in West Bengal. This massive investment covers track creation, station redevelopment, and safety enhancements across the entire state. 09 pairs of Vande Bharat trains are presently in operation in the state. Vande Bharat Sleeper Express: 1 pair of services currently operational. 11 pairs of Amrit Bharat Express services currently operational in the state.

Approx 1400 Kms of new Railway tracks were laid in the last 10 years. The state has achieved 100% electrification, with 1,712 km of rail lines electrified since 2014. Construction of 523 flyovers and underpasses during the last 11 years. Total 3200 Route KM has been sanctioned for installation of Kavach in the state of West Bengal. 7 new high-speed corridors were announced in this year’s budget. West Bengal will get its first Bullet train for the newly proposed High-speed corridor from Varanasi to Siliguri.  A new freight corridor from Dankuni to Surat will ensure seamless logistics and freight movement covering West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat. 45 Kms of new tracks were laid for the Kolkata metro in last 11 years.

DRM Kharagpur, Shri Lalit Mohan Pandey briefed the members of the press and media present during the Video conferencing about the budgetary grant and various ongoing development works in Kharagpur Division. Addressing to the media queries, DRM Kharagpur mentioned that Railway projects for laying of 3 new lines: Kanthi-Egra new line, Nandakumar-Balaipanda New Line, and Nandigram-Kandiamari New line has been defreezed by the Railway board and work will commence very soon. He also mentioned that the division is closely monitoring the punctuality of Suburban and Express trains plying over the division and all measures are being taken to operate the train services on time. He also replied to various queries raised by the media persons regarding status of the undergoing works and other issues.

For the state of Odisha, an allocation of Rs. 10,928 crores have been made in this year budget as compared to the allocation of Rs. 838 crores made during 2009–2014. 59 stations in Odisha are being redeveloped as Amrit stations. Total work worth 90,659 Cr under progress for infrastructure transformation in the state of Odisha. This massive investment covers track creation, station redevelopment, and safety enhancements across the entire state. Travel efficiency in the state has reached new heights with the expansion of premium train services, 6 pairs of Vande Bharat Express and 6 pairs of Amrit Bharat Express services are currently operational in the state. Since 2014, approximately 2,200 km of tracks have been constructed. The state has achieved 100% electrification, with 1,559 km of rail lines electrified since 2014. Sanctions has already been granted for installation of Kavach technology for 2922 Kms of railway tracks in the state. Construction of 632 flyovers and underpasses during the last 11 years. AI based thermal cameras, and optical fibre technologies will be implemented to ensure safe movement of elephants and cattle in the Elephant corridor zones of the state.

For the state of Jharkhand, an allocation of Rs. 7,536 crores have been made, which is 16 times more than the allocation of Rs. 457 crores made during 2009–2014. 57 stations in Jharkhand are being redeveloped as Amrit stations. Total work worth 63,470 Cr under progress for infrastructure transformation in the state of Jharkhand. This massive investment covers track creation, station redevelopment, and safety enhancements across the entire state. Travel efficiency in the state has reached new heights with the expansion of premium train services, 12 pairs of Vande Bharat Express and 4 pairs of Amrit Bharat Express services are currently operational in the state. The state has achieved 100% electrification, with 946 km of rail lines electrified since 2014. Sanctions have already been granted for installation of Kavach technology for 1907 Kms of railway tracks in the state. Since 2014, approximately 1,400 km of tracks have been constructed. This is more than the entire rail network of UAE. Construction of 486 flyovers and underpasses during the last 11 years in the state.

बजट 2026 की सबसे बड़ी घोषणा इनकम टैक्स को लेकर रही। नई टैक्स व्यवस्था (New Tax Regime) के तहत अब ₹12 लाख तक की वार्षिक आय वाले व्यक्तियों को कोई टैक्स नहीं देना होगा। इसके अलावा, वेतनभोगी कर्मचारियों के लिए स्टैंडर्ड डिडक्शन को बढ़ाकर ₹75,000 पर बरकरार रखा गया है, जिससे प्रभावी टैक्स छूट सीमा ₹12.75 लाख तक पहुँच जाती है।

रेलवे और इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर: 7 नए हाई-स्पीड कॉरिडोर

भारतीय रेलवे के लिए वित्त मंत्री ने रिकॉर्ड आवंटन किया है। सरकार ने 7 नए हाई-स्पीड रेल कॉरिडोर बनाने की घोषणा की है, जिसमें दिल्ली-वाराणसी मार्ग प्रमुख है। इसके साथ ही, देश में परिवहन और लॉजिस्टिक्स को सस्ता बनाने के लिए अगले 5 वर्षों में 20 नए जलमार्ग (Waterways) शुरू किए जाएंगे।

सेमीकंडक्टर और ‘बायो-फार्मा शक्ति’ मिशन

भारत को ग्लोबल मैन्युफैक्चरिंग हब बनाने के लिए इंडिया सेमीकंडक्टर मिशन 2.0 का ऐलान किया गया है, जिसके लिए ₹40,000 करोड़ आवंटित किए गए हैं। स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्र में नई ऊंचाइयों को छूने के लिए ‘बायो-फार्मा शक्ति’ योजना शुरू की गई है, जिसके तहत 3 नए संस्थान और जिला अस्पतालों में आपातकालीन सुविधाओं का विस्तार किया जाएगा।

MSME और युवाओं के लिए सौगात

छोटे उद्योगों (MSME) को बढ़ावा देने के लिए ₹10,000 करोड़ का नया फंड बनाया गया है। युवाओं के लिए ‘शिक्षा से रोजगार’ समिति का गठन किया गया है, जो सीधे कौशल विकास और नौकरी दिलाने पर काम करेगी।

बजट की 5 मुख्य बातें:

टैक्स फ्री आय: ₹12 लाख तक की सालाना कमाई पर अब जीरो टैक्स।

सेमीकंडक्टर: ₹40,000 करोड़ के निवेश के साथ भारत बनेगा ग्लोबल चिप मेकर।

बुजुर्गों को राहत: वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए टैक्स कटौती की सीमा बढ़ाकर ₹1 लाख की गई।

जलमार्ग विकास: ओडिशा से शुरू होंगे नए वॉटरवे प्रोजेक्ट्स।

डिजिटल इंडिया: रेहड़ी-पटरी वालों के लिए ₹30,000 की सीमा वाला UPI-लिंक्ड क्रेडिट कार्ड।

वित्त मंत्री का संदेश: “यह बजट केवल आंकड़ों का लेखा-जोखा नहीं, बल्कि 140 करोड़ भारतीयों के कर्तव्यों और सपनों का प्रतिबिंब है।”

RPF घाटशिला ने लापता नाबालिग लड़की को बचाया और उसे उसके परिवार से मिलवाया
खड़गपुर, 30 जनवरी 2026:
28.01.2026 को, घाटशिला रेलवे स्टेशन पर रूटीन पेट्रोलिंग और चेकिंग ड्यूटी के दौरान, रेलवे प्रोटेक्शन फ़ोर्स (RPF) के जवानों ने देखा कि एक नाबालिग लड़की ट्रेन नंबर 12871 से लगभग 14:44 बजे उतरने के बाद प्लेटफ़ॉर्म नंबर 02 पर बिना किसी मकसद के घूम रही थी। लड़की कन्फ्यूज़ और मानसिक रूप से परेशान लग रही थी।
प्यार से पूछने पर, लड़की ने अपनी पहचान उत्तर प्रदेश की रहने वाली के तौर पर बताई। वह ठीक-ठाक जानकारी नहीं दे पाई, लेकिन उसने अपने भाई का एक मोबाइल नंबर बताया।
उस नंबर पर संपर्क करने पर पता चला कि लड़की 24.01.2026 से लापता थी, और उसके लापता होने के बारे में खेतासराय पुलिस स्टेशन, ज़िला जौनपुर (U.P.) में पहले ही FIR दर्ज हो चुकी थी। मामले की जानकारी तुरंत संबंधित लोकल पुलिस स्टेशन को दी गई। बचाई गई लड़की को फिर सुरक्षित रूप से RPF पोस्ट, घाटशिला लाया गया, जहाँ उसे सही देखभाल, खाना और पानी दिया गया, और GRP और स्टेशन अधिकारियों को सही जानकारी देकर उसे सुरक्षित हिरासत में रखा गया।
29.01.2026 को, खेतासराय पुलिस स्टेशन के अधिकारी, लड़की के परिवार वालों के साथ, RPF पोस्ट घाटशिला पहुँचे। उन्होंने खेतासराय पुलिस स्टेशन में रजिस्टर्ड ज़रूरी डॉक्यूमेंट्स दिखाए।
सही वेरिफिकेशन और सभी कानूनी फॉर्मैलिटीज़ पूरी करने के बाद, बचाई गई नाबालिग लड़की को गवाहों और उसके परिवार वालों की मौजूदगी में, सही रसीद और फोटोग्राफिक डॉक्यूमेंट्स के साथ लोकल पुलिस अथॉरिटी को सौंप दिया गया।
परिवार ने नाबालिग को सुरक्षित रूप से बचाने और उसके परिवार से मिलाने में रेलवे प्रोटेक्शन फोर्स की तुरंत कार्रवाई और इंसानियत भरे तरीके के लिए दिल से शुक्रिया अदा किया।
RPF यात्रियों की सुरक्षा पक्का करने के लिए पूरी तरह तैयार है और मुश्किल में फंसे लोगों की मदद करने के लिए अपनी पूरी कोशिशें जारी रखे हुए है।

RPF Ghatsila Rescues Missing Minor Girl and Reunites Her with Family

Kharagpur, 30th January 2026:

On 28.01.2026, during routine patrolling and checking duty at Ghatsila Railway Station, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel noticed a minor girl wandering aimlessly on Platform No. 02 after alighting from Train No. 12871 at about 14:44 hrs. The girl appeared confused and mentally distressed.

On being politely enquired, the girl disclosed her identity as resident of Uttar Pradesh. She was unable to provide satisfactory details but shared a mobile number of her brother.

On contacting the said number, it was revealed that the girl had been missing since 24.01.2026, and an FIR had already been lodged at Khetasarai Police Station, District Jaunpur (U.P.) regarding her disappearance. The matter was immediately intimated to the concerned local police station.

The rescued girl was then brought safely to RPF Post, Ghatsila, where she was provided proper care, food and water, and kept under safe custody with due intimation to GRP and Station authorities.

On 29.01.2026, officials from Khetasarai Police Station, along with the family members of the girl, arrived at RPF Post Ghatsila. They produced necessary documents, registered at Khetasarai Police Station.

After due verification and following all legal formalities, the rescued minor girl was handed over to the local police authority in the presence of witnesses and her family members, with proper acknowledgement and photographic documentation.

The family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Railway Protection Force for their prompt action and humane approach in safely rescuing and reuniting the minor with her family.

RPF remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of passengers and continues its vigilant efforts to assist those in distress.

S. E. RAILWAY TO COMMENCE THE CONSTRUCTION WORK

FOR SIX NEW RAILWAY LINES IN WEST BENGAL

The construction work for Six New Railway Lines in West Bengal which have been sanctioned by Railway Board will commence shortly. These new Rail line projects will be executed by South Eastern Railway to improve connectivity, boost regional economy and provide better access for the local residents.

The Railway Lines are:

1) Kanthi-Egra New Line

This new line project of 26.2 Km will cover the East Medinipur district of West Bengal. The line will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 247.28 crores (approx). This will be a new Rail connectivity in this area.

2) Nandkumar-Balaipanda New Line

This new line project of 28 Km will cover the East Medinipur district of West Bengal. The line will be constructed at a cost of 275.14 crores (approx). This will be a new Rail connectivity in this area.

3) Nandigram-Kandiamari (Nayachar) New Line

This new line project of 7 Km will cover the East Medinipur district of West Bengal. The line will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 75.62 crores (approx). This will be a new Rail connectivity in this area.

4) Bowaichandi-Arambagh New Line

This new line project of 31 Km will cover East Bardhaman & Hooghly districts of West Bengal. The line will be constructed at a cost of 267.37 crores (approx). The construction of this new railway line will reduce the rail distance between Bowaichandi and Arambagh by around 90 Kms.

5) Bowaichandi-Khana New Line

This new line project of 24.4 Km will cover the East Bardhaman district of West Bengal. The line will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 38.92 crores (approx). The construction of this new railway line will reduce the rail distance between Bowaichandi and Khana by around 64 Kms.

6) Bankura (Kalabati)-Purulia via Hura New Line

This new line project of 65 Km will cover the Bankura & Purulia districts of West Bengal. The line will be constructed at a cost of Rs.294.89 crores (approx).

The local residents, who are deprived of rail communication, will now be immensely benefitted. The new lines will enhance business opportunities and new job opportunities will be generated for the local people. Moreover, with the new mode of transportation, medical and educational opportunities will grow in these regions.

Patriotic Programme Celebrates 150 Years of “Vande Mataram” at Kharagpur Railway Station

Kharagpur, January 22, 2026:

As part of the Republic Day Celebrations–2026, Kharagpur Division organized a patriotic programme on January 22, 2026, at the Circulating Area of Kharagpur Railway Station to commemorate 150 years of the iconic patriotic song “Vande Mataram.”

The programme commenced with the soulful and resonant rendition of “Vande Mataram,” which instantly filled the station premises with a spirit of national pride and unity. Passengers, railway staff, and members of the general public joined together in celebrating the timeless legacy of the song that has inspired generations of Indians.

The event was graced by the presence of Shri Lalit Mohan Pandey, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Kharagpur Division, Ms. Maneesha Goel, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM), Shri Prakash Kumar Panda, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner (Sr. DSC)/KGP, Shri Nishant Kumar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager/KGP, Vice Principal, Zonal Training Institute (ZTI), Kharagpur, along with other senior officers and dignitaries of Kharagpur Division.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Lalit Mohan Pandey, DRM/Kharagpur, said,

“‘Vande Mataram’ is not just a song; it is an emotion that binds every Indian. Celebrating its 150 years at a place as vibrant and diverse as Kharagpur Railway Station reflects Indian Railways’ commitment to nurturing patriotism and national unity. Such programmes strengthen our collective resolve to serve the country with integrity, discipline, and pride.””

A large number of media representatives, local citizens, railway officers and staff, and RPF personnel of Kharagpur Post actively participated in the programme, making it a memorable and inspiring celebration.

The event concluded on a high note, reinforcing the spirit of nationalism and paying tribute to the enduring legacy of “Vande Mataram” as the nation moves towards Republic Day 2026.

गणतंत्र दिवस समारोह–2026 के अंतर्गत खड़गपुर मंडल द्वारा 22 जनवरी 2026 को दक्षिण पूर्व रेलवे के खड़गपुर रेलवे स्टेशन के परिसंचरण क्षेत्र में देशभक्ति कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। यह कार्यक्रम प्रतिष्ठित देशभक्ति गीत ‘वंदे मातरम्’ के 150 वर्ष पूर्ण होने के उपलक्ष्य में आयोजित किया गया।

कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ ‘वंदे मातरम्’ की भावपूर्ण और गूंजती हुई प्रस्तुति के साथ हुआ, जिसने स्टेशन परिसर को राष्ट्रीय गौरव और एकता की भावना से ओत-प्रोत कर दिया। यात्रियों, रेलवे कर्मचारियों तथा आम नागरिकों ने एक साथ मिलकर इस कालजयी गीत की विरासत का उत्सव मनाया, जिसने पीढ़ियों से देशवासियों को प्रेरित किया है।

INTRODUCTION OF SMVT BENGALURU-RADHIKAPUR- SMVT BENGALURU EXPRESS

It has been decided that 16223/16224 SMVT Bengaluru-Radhikapur- SMVT Bengaluru Express will be introduced w.e.f. 22.01.2026 from SMVT Bengaluru as 16223 SMVT Bengaluru-Radhikapur Express and w.e.f. 25.01.2026 from Radhikapur as 16224 Radhikapur-SMVT Bengaluru Express as per the following schedule:

16223 SMVT Bengaluru-Radhikapur Express will leave SMVT Bengaluru every Thursday at 13:50 hrs w.e.f. 22.01.2026 and will reach Radhikpur at 12:45 hrs, the third day. In the return direction, 16224 Radhikapur-SMVT Bengaluru Express will leave Radhikapur every Sunday at 21:30 hrs w.e.f. 25.01.2026 and will arrive SMVT Bengaluru at 20:45 hrs, the third day.

माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने आज (18.01.2026) वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से सिंगूर से तीन नई अमृत भारत एक्सप्रेस ट्रेनों को हरी झंडी दिखाई। ये अमृत भारत एक्सप्रेस ट्रेनें संतरागाछी–ताम्बरम, हावड़ा–आनंद विहार तथा सियालदह–बनारस के बीच चलेंगी।

माननीय प्रधानमंत्री ने इसके साथ ही जय रामबाटी–मयना पुर (15 किमी) के बीच नई रेल लाइन का उद्घाटन किया तथा इस खंड पर एक नई ट्रेन सेवा की भी शुरुआत की।

भारतीय रेल ने पश्चिम बंगाल के बांकुड़ा जिले में जय रामबाटी–मयना पुर (15 किमी) नई रेल लाइन परियोजना को ₹280 करोड़ की लागत से पूरा किया है। यह खंड तारकेश्वर–बिष्णुपुर (83 किमी) नई रेल लाइन परियोजना का हिस्सा है, जिसका उद्देश्य क्षेत्रीय रेल संपर्क को सुदृढ़ करना है।

 HON’BLE PRIME MINISTER FLAGGED OFF AMRIT BHARAT EXPRESS TRAINS

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi flagged off three new Amrit Bharat Express trains from Singur through video conferencing today (18.01.2026). These Amrit Bharat Express Trains will run between Santragachi-Tambaram, Howrah-Anand Vihar and Sealdah-Banaras. Hon’ble Prime Minister also inaugurated a new Rail line between Jayrambati and Maynapur (15 km) along with a new train between Jayrambati-Maynapur. Shri Ravneet Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways, Shri Satish Kumar, Chairman & CEO Railway Board, Shri Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager, South Eastern Railway, Shri Lalit Mohan Pandey, Divisional Railway Manager, Kharagpur and other dignitaries were present at Santragachi Station during the inaugural run programme of three new Amrit Bharat Express Trains.

The train will have stoppages at Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Patna, Jasidih, Madhupur, Asansol and Durgapur.

New Project and New Train:

Indian Railways has completed the 15 km new line between Jayrambati-Maynapur in Bankura district of West Bengal at a cost of Rs.280 crore. This section is a part of the larger Tarakeswar-Bishnupur (83 km) new rail line project, aimed at strengthening regional rail connectivity.

68095/68096 Jayrambati-Maynapur-Jayrambati MEMU :

The 68095 Jayrambati-Maynapur MEMU will leave Jayrambati at 20:10 hrs and arrive Maynapur at 20:31 hrs. The return service, 68096 Maynapur-Jayrambati MEMU will depart Maynapur at 19:28 hrs. and will reach Jayrambati at 20:00 hrs. The train will stop at Borogopinathpur in both the directions.

अमृत भारत एक्सप्रेस एक नई पीढ़ी की ट्रेन है, जिसे किफायती, सुरक्षित एवं लंबी दूरी की अंतर-राज्यीय यात्रा के लिए शुरू किया गया है। आधुनिक एवं अत्याधुनिक सुविधाओं से सुसज्जित ये ट्रेनें यात्रियों को बेहतर आराम, सुविधा तथा उत्कृष्ट यात्रा अनुभव प्रदान करती हैं।

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will flag off new Amrit Bharat Express trains on 18.01.2026 viz, Santragachi – Tambaram Amrit Bharat Expres, Howrah – Anand Vihar Amrit Bharat Express and Sealdah – Banaras Amrit Bharat Express.

Amrit Bharat Express is a new generation train introduced for affordable, safe and long distance inter-state travel. Designed with modern, state-of-the-art amenities, the Amrit Bharat Express trains ensure enhanced passenger comfort, convenience and a superior travel experience.

1) 16107/16108 Tambaram – Santragachi – Tambaram Amrit Bharat Express

16107 Tambaram-Santragachi Amrit Bharat Express will leave Tambaram every Friday at 15:30 hrs and will reach Santragachi at 20:15 hrs, the next day. In the return direction, 16108 Santragachi – Tambaram Amrit Bharat Express will leave Santragachi every Saturday at 23:55 hrs and will arrive Tambaram at 10:00 hrs, the third day.

Amrit Bharat Express Trains Driving West Bengal’s Next Rail Revolution

Indian Railways’ growth story has often been told through iconic landmarks, high-speed ambitions and marquee inaugurations. The Amrit Bharat Express trains are an affordable and reliable Rail connectivity, linking far-off regions often separated by geography and opportunity.

Speaking at the launch of the service, the Prime Minister described the Amrit Bharat Express as the country’s latest modern train, following the Vande Bharat Express and Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. Together, the three represent a broader transformation underway in Indian Railways, one that is now translating into tangible benefits for everyday passengers across regions. On the 17th and 18th January, the Nation will see a leap in this journey of modernisation with the launch of Amrit Bharat Sleeper trains. With an aerodynamic design and the capability to run at speeds of up to 180 kmph, these world-class trains will reduce travel time for long-distance journeys.

Till now, 30 Amrit Bharat Express train services have been operating in the country since the service was first launched in December 2023. On 17th January 2026, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will flag off a series of Amrit Bharat Express trains from West Bengal to different parts of the country. Tentative names of Amrit Bharat Express trains announced for West Bengal are:

1. New Jalpaiguri – Nagercoil Amrit Bharat Express

2. New Jalpaiguri – Tiruchirappalli Amrit Bharat Express

3. Alipurduar – Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express

4. Alipurduar – Mumbai (Panvel) Amrit Bharat Express

Stretching from the sub-Himalayan foothills in West Bengal to the southern tip of the country in Tamil Nadu, the New Jalpaiguri – Nagercoil Amrit Bharat Express will traverse multiple linguistic, cultural and economic zones. For migrant workers, students, traders and families, it is set to become a dependable link.

Equally significant is the New Jalpaiguri – Tiruchirappalli Amrit Bharat Express, which links North Bengal with central Tamil Nadu’s educational and manufacturing centres. By offering a direct and affordable option on a corridor traditionally dependent on fragmented connections, the service simplifies long-distance travel for thousands who routinely travel between eastern India and the south.

Similarly, the Alipurduar – Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express will strengthen links between the Dooars region in West Bengal and the southern industrial ecosystem in Karnataka. Alipurduar’s strategic location near international borders and forested terrain has often translated into isolation. A direct Amrit Bharat Express to Bengaluru will serve as an economic and social link for the people of the region.

Completing this eastern arc is the Alipurduar – Mumbai (Panvel) Amrit Bharat Express, which reflects east-west integration. Mumbai remains India’s most established commercial centre, while Panvel is emerging as a major transit and logistics hub. For business passengers from North Bengal and adjoining regions, a direct, comfortable train to Panvel, Mumbai, will reduce travel uncertainty at affordable fares.

From a technical perspective, the Amrit Bharat Express places strong emphasis on safety and passenger comfort. Semi-automatic couplers reduce noise and jolts during coupling operations, while deformation tubes help absorb impact in the event of accidents. Push-pull technology enhances operational efficiency and performance.

Passenger-focused features include foldable snack tables, mobile and bottle holders, radium floor strips, comfortable seating and improved berths. Toilets are equipped with electro-pneumatic flushing systems, automatic soap dispensers and fire suppression mechanisms, with special provisions for divyangjan passengers. Fast charging points for every passenger and a pantry car further enhance long-distance travel comfort.

Joint Eviction Drive Successfully Conducted at Railway Land near Bhanjpur Station

Baleswar, 11 January 2025:

A joint eviction drive was successfully conducted on 10.01.2025 at railway land near the Railway Colony, Bhanjpur Station, to remove unauthorized encroachments and safeguard valuable railway property.

The eviction drive was carried out by the engineering department in coordination with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and concerned railway staff. During the operation, one hard encroachment and one soft encroachment were removed, covering an area of approximately 15 meters × 19 meters (about 285 square meters) of railway land.

The total assessed value of the reclaimed railway land is approximately Rs. 26,41,180/- (Rupees Twenty-Six Lakh Forty-One Thousand One Hundred Eighty only).

The eviction was completed smoothly without any law-and-order issues. The local civil administration was present during the drive to ensure peaceful execution and to provide necessary assistance.

The Railways reiterate their commitment to protecting railway land and infrastructure and will continue to conduct such coordinated eviction drives to prevent unauthorized occupation of railway property.

RPF Rescues Two Runaway Minors at Kharagpur and Shalimar Railway Stations

Kharagpur, 10 January 2026:

In separate incidents on 10.01.2026, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued two runaway minor children during routine round and checking at Kharagpur and Shalimar Railway Stations and ensured their safe handover to Childline authorities for further care and rehabilitation.

Rescue at Kharagpur Railway Station:

On 10.01.2026 at about 17:10 hrs, during routine round and checking of the platform area of Kharagpur Railway Station, RPF personnel noticed a minor girl roaming aimlessly on Platform No. 02. On interaction, the minor disclosed her identity and stated that she had run away from her home with a friend.

The minor girl was immediately brought to the RPF post, where she was provided with necessary food and water. Information was promptly communicated to Childline, Kharagpur. The Childline team attended the post and, after completion of all legal formalities, the minor girl was handed over to the Railway Child Care Worker for safe custody and further rehabilitation.

Rescue at Shalimar Railway Station:

On the same day, i.e. 10.01.2026, at about 09:30 hrs, during routine round and checking at Shalimar Railway Station, RPF personnel noticed a suspected minor boy moving from the parking area towards Platform No. 01. On interaction, the boy disclosed that he had fled from his home without the knowledge or consent of his parents and had come to Shalimar Railway Station with the intention of travelling to Hyderabad in search of work, without possessing any ticket or valid authority.

Considering the circumstances and in the interest of the child’s safety, the minor boy was rescued. Subsequently, the rescued minor boy along with his personal belongings was handed over to Childline, Howrah for further necessary action.

The RPF reiterates its commitment to the safety, protection, and welfare of children at railway premises and continues to work in close coordination with Childline and other stakeholders to prevent child trafficking and ensure timely care and rehabilitation of vulnerable children.
