Kharagpur Trade Fair Inaugurated: A Landmark Initiative for Vendor Development
Kharagpur, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I), in collaboration with MSME DFO and the District Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCC&I), proudly inaugurated the Kharagpur Trade Fair for Vendor Development today. The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Manas Bhunia, Minister-in-Charge, Water Resources Investigation and Development, Government of West Bengal.
Shri Bhunia, in his inaugural address, commended the vital role played by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bengal’s economic landscape. He emphasized the remarkable growth in manufacturing witnessed in the state and urged the Bengal Chamber of Commerce to collaborate in establishing an industry growth center in Midnapore. The minister also highlighted West Bengal’s significant contribution to national agriculture.
Mr. Gautam Ray, President of The Bengal Chamber, extended a warm welcome to all participants and expressed the chamber’s commitment to fostering industrial development across West Bengal. He underscored the importance of MSMEs in balancing economic prosperity with environmental and social responsibility, noting their flexible and non-bureaucratic structure as a key asset.
Mr. Sanjay Behera, Chief Sales Manager at Tata Steel Limited, shared insights on the potential of MSMEs adopting a cluster approach to accelerate their journey toward global recognition. He emphasized the pivotal role such collaborations play in propelling progress within the industry.
Adding to the discourse, Mr. Vivek Chauhan, Chief Commercial Officer of L&T Sufin, shed light on their online platform’s role in easing Supplier Finance and connecting MSMEs with new customers. He emphasized the importance of technological solutions in enhancing the business ecosystem.
The Kharagpur Trade Fair witnessed active participation from local authorities, industrialists, and stakeholders. The event serves as a testament to the collaborative efforts of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and its partners in advancing the cause of MSMEs and fostering sustainable industrial growth in West Bengal.

শ্রী ভুনিয়া, তার উদ্বোধনী ভাষণে, বাংলার অর্থনৈতিক দৃশ্যপটে ক্ষুদ্র, ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি উদ্যোগের (এমএসএমই) গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকার প্রশংসা করেন। তিনি রাজ্যে উৎপাদনে উল্লেখযোগ্য বৃদ্ধির উপর জোর দেন এবং বেঙ্গল চেম্বার অফ কমার্সকে মেদিনীপুরে একটি শিল্প বৃদ্ধি কেন্দ্র স্থাপনে সহযোগিতা করার আহ্বান জানান। মন্ত্রী জাতীয় কৃষিতে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের উল্লেখযোগ্য অবদানের কথাও তুলে ধরেন।

শ্রী সঞ্জয় বেহেরা, টাটা স্টিল লিমিটেডের চিফ সেলস ম্যানেজার (এছাড়াও বেঙ্গল চেম্বারের ম্যানুফ্যাকচারিং এবং এমএসএমই কমিটির চেয়ারম্যান), বিশ্বব্যাপী স্বীকৃতির দিকে তাদের যাত্রাকে ত্বরান্বিত করার জন্য MSMEগুলির একটি ক্লাস্টার পদ্ধতি গ্রহণ করার সম্ভাবনার বিষয়ে অন্তর্দৃষ্টি শেয়ার করেছেন৷ তিনি শিল্পের মধ্যে অগ্রগতি চালিত করার ক্ষেত্রে এই ধরনের সহযোগিতার প্রধান ভূমিকার উপর জোর দেন।
