खड़गपुर आद्रा (मंडलीय) रेलवे यात्री संघ (KARPA) ने आज गड़बेता रेलवे स्टेशन पर एक विरोध प्रदर्शन आयोजित किया। संघ ने दक्षिण पूर्व रेलवे के आद्रा मंडल के मंडल रेल प्रबंधक (DRM) को 14 सूत्रीय मांग पत्र सौंपा है।KARPA के सचिव और DRUCC आद्रा डिवीजन के सदस्य दुर्गादास देय के नेतृत्व में यह विरोध प्रदर्शन मुख्य रूप से गढ़बेटा रेल लेवल क्रॉसिंग (उत्तर केबिन) पर फ्लाईओवर के निर्माण की मांग को लेकर किया गया। याचिका के अनुसार, गेट बंद होने के कारण यात्रियों को दिन में कई बार 30 मिनट से अधिक समय तक इंतजार करना पड़ता है, जिससे छात्रों, आपातकालीन सेवाओं और दैनिक यात्रियों को भारी परेशानी होती है।मुख्य मांगें इस प्रकार हैं:बुनियादी ढांचा: गढ़बेटा में फ्लाईओवर का निर्माण और सालबनी उत्तर केबिन में टूटे हुए अंडरपास और पहुंच मार्ग की मरम्मत।स्टेशन रखरखाव: बांकुड़ा में खराब लिफ्ट को ठीक करना, बागरी रोड स्टेशन पर शौचालयों की मरम्मत और पीने के पानी की व्यवस्था।ट्रेन सेवाएं: मेमू (MEMU) ट्रेनों में साफ-सफाई सुनिश्चित करना और हावड़ा-रांची इंटरसिटी एक्सप्रेस (22891/22892) का गढ़बेटा, चंद्रकोना रोड और सालबनी में ठहराव।सुरक्षा और पहुंच: सालबनी स्टेशन पर बेहतर प्रकाश व्यवस्था और बागरी रोड पर प्लेटफॉर्म का कंक्रीटीकरण।संघ ने चेतावनी दी है कि फ्लाईओवर न होने से विशेष रूप से एम्बुलेंस में फंसे मरीजों की जान को खतरा बना रहता है। इस विरोध प्रदर्शन को अध्यक्ष बी.एन. पालोंग और उपाध्यक्ष असिस देय सहित कई वरिष्ठ सदस्यों का समर्थन प्राप्त था।
Railway Passengers Association to Protest at Garhbeta Station; Demands Flyover and Better Amenities
Garbeta, February 15, 2026: The Kharagpur Adra (Divisional) Railway Passengers Association (KARPA) today launched a formal protest at the Garbeta Railway Station, submitting a comprehensive list of 14 demands to the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Adra Division, South Eastern Railway.The protest, led by Durgadas Dey (Secretary of KARPA and member of DRUCC Adra Division), primarily focuses on the urgent need for a flyover at the Garbeta rail level crossing (north cabin). According to the petition, commuters currently face delays of over 30 minutes multiple times a day due to gate closures, causing significant distress to students, emergency services, and daily wage workers.Key Demands Include:Infrastructure: Construction of a flyover at Garbeta and repair of the broken underpass/approach road at Salboni North Cabin.Station Maintenance: Repairing non-functional lifts at Bankura, fixing broken toilets at Bagri Road, and providing drinking water.Train Services: Improving cleanliness in local MEMU trains and ensuring the stoppage of the Howrah-Ranchi Intercity Express (22891/22892) at Garbeta, Chandrakona Road, and Salboni.Safety & Access: Better lighting at Salboni station and concreting platforms at Bagri Road.The association warned that the lack of a flyover is putting lives at risk, particularly for patients in ambulances stuck in traffic. The petition was backed by several senior members, including President B.N. Palong and Vice Presidents Asis Dey and Rabi Sankar Sunekha.
