आपको जानकर प्रसन्नता होगी कि पश्चिम बंगाल में निम्नलिखित रेल लाइन परियोजनाओं के निर्माण कार्य को प्रारंभ करने हेतु स्वीकृति दे दी गई है।
• कांथी–एगरा नई रेल लाइन
• नन्दकुमार–बलाईपंडा नई रेल लाइन
• नंदीग्राम–केंदामारी (न्याचार) नई रेल लाइन
• बोआईचंडी–आरामबाग एवं बोआईचंडी –खाना नई रेल लाइन
• बांकुड़ा (कलाबती)–पुरुलिया वाया हुड़ा नई रेल लाइन
S. E. RAILWAY TO COMMENCE THE CONSTRUCTION WORK
FOR SIX NEW RAILWAY LINES IN WEST BENGAL
Kolkata, 29th January, 2026
The construction work for Six New Railway Lines in West Bengal which have been sanctioned by Railway Board will commence shortly. These new Rail line projects will be executed by South Eastern Railway to improve connectivity, boost regional economy and provide better access for the local residents.
The Railway Lines are:
1) Kanthi-Egra New Line
This new line project of 26.2 Km will cover the East Medinipur district of West Bengal. The line will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 247.28 crores (approx). This will be a new Rail connectivity in this area.
2) Nandkumar-Balaipanda New Line
This new line project of 28 Km will cover the East Medinipur district of West Bengal. The line will be constructed at a cost of 275.14 crores (approx). This will be a new Rail connectivity in this area.
3) Nandigram-Kandiamari (Nayachar) New Line
This new line project of 7 Km will cover the East Medinipur district of West Bengal. The line will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 75.62 crores (approx). This will be a new Rail connectivity in this area.
4) Bowaichandi-Arambagh New Line
This new line project of 31 Km will cover East Bardhaman & Hooghly districts of West Bengal. The line will be constructed at a cost of 267.37 crores (approx). The construction of this new railway line will reduce the rail distance between Bowaichandi and Arambagh by around 90 Kms.
5) Bowaichandi-Khana New Line
This new line project of 24.4 Km will cover the East Bardhaman district of West Bengal. The line will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 38.92 crores (approx). The construction of this new railway line will reduce the rail distance between Bowaichandi and Khana by around 64 Kms.
6) Bankura (Kalabati)-Purulia via Hura New Line
This new line project of 65 Km will cover the Bankura & Purulia districts of West Bengal. The line will be constructed at a cost of Rs.294.89 crores (approx).
The local residents, who are deprived of rail communication, will now be immensely benefitted. The new lines will enhance business opportunities and new job opportunities will be generated for the local people. Moreover, with the new mode of transportation, medical and educational opportunities will grow in these regions.

বঙ্গবাসীদের সাথে এই সুসংবাদ ভাগ করে নিতে পেরে আমি অত্যন্ত আনন্দিত যে, মাননীয় রেলমন্ত্রী শ্রী অশ্বিনী বৈষ্ণব জী আমার পূর্ববর্তী আবেদনের প্রেক্ষিতে পশ্চিমবঙ্গে নিম্নলিখিত নতুন রেল লাইন প্রকল্পগুলির নির্মাণকাজ শুরু করার অনুমোদন দিয়েছেন। এই প্রকল্পগুলি হল:-
# কাঁথি – এগরা নতুন রেল লাইন
# নন্দকুমার – বলাইপন্ডা নতুন রেল লাইন
# নন্দীগ্রাম – কেন্দামারি (নয়াচর) নতুন রেল লাইন
# বোয়াইচণ্ডী – আরামবাগ এবং বোয়াইচণ্ডী – খানা নতুন রেল লাইন
# বাঁকুড়া (কলাবতী) – পুরুলিয়া হুড়া হয়ে নতুন রেল লাইন
এই অনুমোদনের ফলে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের বিভিন্ন প্রান্তের যাত্রীদের যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা, ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্য ও এলাকার উন্নয়নের নতুন দ্বার উন্মোচিত হবে। এই সব এলাকায় বসবাসকারী জনগণের দীর্ঘদিনের দাবি পূরণের পথে বড় পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করার জন্য মাননীয় রেলমন্ত্রী শ্রী অশ্বিনী বৈষ্ণব জী কে কৃতজ্ঞচিত্তে ধন্যবাদ জানাচ্ছি।
মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী শ্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদীজীর নেতৃত্বে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার পশ্চিমবঙ্গের উন্নয়ন ও অগ্রগতি ঘটানোর লক্ষে দ্রুততার সাথে দৃঢ় পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করছেন।
