तीन मोबाइल जब्त, स्नैचर गिरफ्तार, ट्रेन यात्रियों से करता था स्नैचिंग
बालेश्वर रेलवे स्टेशन पर मोबाइल स्नैचर की गिरफ्तारी
दिनांक 02.02.2026 को बालेश्वर रेलवे स्टेशन पर यात्रियों के सामान की चोरी (TOPB) में संलिप्त अपराधियों के विरुद्ध रेलवे सुरक्षा बल (आरपीएफ) एवं राजकीय रेलवे पुलिस (जीआरपी) द्वारा संयुक्त अभियान चलाया गया।
अभियान के दौरान रात्रि लगभग 23:45 बजे प्लेटफॉर्म संख्या 01 के खड़गपुर छोर पर अंधेरे कोने में एक संदिग्ध व्यक्ति अकेले बैठा हुआ पाया गया। पूछताछ करने पर वह स्टेशन पर अपनी उपस्थिति के संबंध में संतोषजनक उत्तर नहीं दे सका तथा वैध यात्रा दस्तावेज भी प्रस्तुत नहीं कर पाया। आगे की पूछताछ एवं तलाशी के दौरान उसके कब्जे से लगभग ₹42,000 मूल्य के तीन मोबाइल फोन बरामद किए गए। पूछताछ में उसने स्वीकार किया कि उसने गोलापोल क्षेत्र, बालेश्वर के निकट धीमी गति से चल रही ट्रेनों से यात्रियों के मोबाइल फोन छीने थे तथा उन्हें निजी लाभ के लिए बेचने का प्रयास कर रहा था।
बरामद मोबाइल फोन विधिसम्मत प्रक्रिया के तहत जब्त किए गए तथा आरोपी को जब्त सामग्री सहित आगे की कार्रवाई हेतु जीआरपी बालेश्वर को सुपुर्द कर दिया गया।
प्रकरण–2: खड़गपुर में नाबालिग बालिका का बचाव एवं पुनर्वास
दिनांक 03.02.2026 को खड़गपुर के दक्षिणी रेलवे क्षेत्र में नियमित गश्त एवं जांच के दौरान डीएफएम कार्यालय क्षेत्र के पास एक नाबालिग बालिका को भटकते हुए देखा गया। पूछताछ करने पर उसने बताया कि वह कटक, ओडिशा से भोजन एवं आश्रय हेतु कार्य की तलाश में आई थी। वह कोई पहचान पत्र अथवा संतोषजनक विवरण प्रस्तुत नहीं कर सकी। उसकी संवेदनशील स्थिति को देखते हुए उसे सुरक्षित रूप से आरपीएफ टाउन पोस्ट, खड़गपुर लाया गया, जहां उसे आवश्यक देखभाल एवं संरक्षण प्रदान किया गया। घटना को स्टेशन डायरी में दर्ज कर तुरंत चाइल्ड हेल्पलाइन से संपर्क किया गया। विधिसम्मत प्रक्रिया का पालन करते हुए आवश्यक दस्तावेज तैयार कर बालिका को आगे की देखभाल, पुनर्वास एवं वैधानिक कार्रवाई हेतु जिला बाल संरक्षण इकाई (DCPU), पश्चिम मेदिनीपुर को सुपुर्द किया गया।

RPF Takes Action Against Crime and Extends Care to Minor Child
Kharagpur, 04.02.2026:
Case–1: Apprehension of Mobile Snatcher at Baleshwar Railway Station – On 02.02.2026, a joint drive was conducted by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) against offenders involved in theft of passenger belongings (TOPB) at Baleshwar Railway Station.
During the drive, at about 23:45 hrs, a suspicious male was noticed sitting alone in a dark corner near the Kharagpur-end of Platform No. 01. On being questioned, he failed to give a satisfactory explanation for his presence at the station and could not produce any valid journey documents. Upon further interrogation and search, three mobile phones, value of 42000/-, were recovered from his possession. The individual confessed that he had snatched these mobile phones from passengers while trains were moving slowly near Golapol area, Baleshwar, and was attempting to dispose of them for personal gain.
The recovered mobile phones were seized following due legal procedure. The accused was subsequently handed over to GRP Baleshwar, along with the seized articles.
Case–2: Rescue and Rehabilitation of Minor Girl at Kharagpur – On 03.02.2026, during routine round and checking in the South Side Railway area of Kharagpur, a minor girl was noticed moving aimlessly near the DFM Office area. On enquiry, the girl stated that she had come from Cuttack, Odisha, in search of work for food and shelter. She was unable to provide any identity proof or satisfactory details.
Considering her vulnerable condition, she was brought safely to RPF Town Post, Kharagpur, and provided proper care and protection. The matter was recorded in the station diary, and the Child Helpline was immediately consulted.
Following due procedure, necessary documentation was prepared, and the minor girl was handed over to the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Paschim Medinipur, for further care, rehabilitation, and necessary action as per law.
The Railway Protection Force reiterates its commitment towards ensuring passenger safety, preventing crime on railway premises, and extending humanitarian assistance to vulnerable individuals.
