आईआईटी खड़गपुर को विश्व में 215वां और भारत में चौथा स्थान: क्यूएस वर्ल्ड यूनिवर्सिटी रैंकिंग 2026 में ऐतिहासिक छलांग

भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (आईआईटी) खड़गपुर ने क्यूएस वर्ल्ड यूनिवर्सिटी रैंकिंग 2026 में भारत में चौथा स्थान प्राप्त किया है। यह संस्थान 2025 की तुलना में 7 स्थान की छलांग लगाकर विश्व स्तर पर 215वें स्थान पर पहुंच गया है।

क्वाक्क्वारेली सायमंड्स (QS) द्वारा जारी विश्व विश्वविद्यालय रैंकिंग 2026 में विश्वभर के 1501 विश्वविद्यालयों को स्थान दिया गया, जबकि कुल 8467 संस्थानों का मूल्यांकन किया गया। आईआईटी खड़गपुर ने स्थिरता (Sustainability), नियोक्ता प्रतिष्ठा (Employer Reputation), प्रति संकाय उद्धरण (Citations per Faculty) और अंतरराष्ट्रीय शोध नेटवर्क (International Research Network) जैसे प्रमुख मापदंडों में शानदार प्रदर्शन किया है।

आईआईटी खड़गपुर के कार्यवाहक निदेशक प्रो. अमित पात्रा ने क्यूएस वर्ल्ड यूनिवर्सिटी रैंकिंग 2026 पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए कहा,

“यह वैश्विक मान्यता हमारे ज्ञान सृजन, प्रसार और सामाजिक प्रभाव के लिए सामूहिक रूप से किए जा रहे प्रयासों का प्रमाण है। हम नवाचार और अंतःविषय शिक्षा को वैश्विक स्तर पर बढ़ावा देने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं।”

 

IIT Kharagpur Forge Strategic Partnership with Swansea University in Advance Smart Manufacturing and Materials Research

 

18 June 2025, Kharagpur, India: In a significant step towards global academic and industrial collaboration, Swansea University and the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT KGP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen research partnerships, promote academic exchange, and foster innovation in advanced manufacturing and materials engineering.

The collaboration was strengthened by a visit from Mr. Tashi Gyaltsen, a representative of Swansea University to IIT Kharagpur’s Centre of Excellence in Advanced Manufacturing Technology (CoEAMT) on 27 January 2025. This visit, recommended by their collaborator Tata Steel UK, aimed to explore research synergies, facilitate knowledge exchange, and lay the groundwork for long-term joint initiatives.

 

As part of the next phase of this collaboration, Prof. Surjya K Pal, Founder Chairperson of CoEAMT, is scheduled to visit Swansea University in July 2025. His visit will include lecture and strategic meetings with faculty members from the departments of Computer Science, Materials Engineering, and International Education to chart future directions of this collaboration.

Speaking on the collaborative venture, Prof. Surjya K Pal remarked, “This mutual collaboration will drive major breakthroughs in advancing cutting-edge research in smart manufacturing and materials engineering. The MoU brings together the complementary strengths of CoEAMT IIT Kharagpur and Swansea, enabling us to leverage expertise in AI-driven manufacturing and materials innovation. We look forward to deepening academic exchanges, fostering joint research projects, and creating impactful industry partnerships that will benefit our faculty, students, and the broader engineering community globally.”

The partnership offers a wide array of benefits for both the institutions. It enables knowledge transfer in AI-driven manufacturing, supports joint industry-funded research projects, and promotes student exchange programs. For IIT Kharagpur, the collaboration is expected to significantly strengthen its research capabilities, expand global engagement, and establish the institution as a leader in engineering innovation.

Established as a national research hub, CoEAMT is a premier interdisciplinary facility driving innovation in smart manufacturing, automation, and materials development. It is actively engaged with global academic and industry leaders, providing a one-stop solution for cutting-edge manufacturing technologies.

IIT Kharagpur Celebrates 11th International Day of Yoga with the Message: Yoga for One Earth, One Health

21 June, 2025, Kharagpur, India — As a part of the nationwide 100-Day Countdown to International Day of Yoga 2025, spearheaded by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, IIT Kharagpur undertook a series of activities and awareness drives aimed at promoting holistic well-being and the ancient practice of Yoga. The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, staff, and campus residents through workshops, lectures, daily practice sessions, and community outreach programs aligned with this year’s theme of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” Over the course of the campaign, IIT Kharagpur conducted diverse events including expert-led yoga demonstrations, stress management and meditation sessions, student-led wellness initiatives, and special yoga modules for different age groups and professions. These efforts not only emphasized the physical benefits of yoga but also its power in fostering emotional balance, mental clarity, and social harmony.

 

 

Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur marked the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) with a spirited and heartfelt celebration, reflecting this year’s global theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” The event was held under the leadership of the newly appointed Director, Prof. Suman Chakraborty, who addressed the gathering with an inspiring message on the transformative power of Yoga.

 

 

The campus community, including Prof. Rintu Banerjee, Deputy Director; Prof. Jitendra Mahakud, President of Technology Students’ Gymkhana; and other faculty, staff, and students, came together at the iconic venue to participate in the yoga session and to witness the live telecast of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address and yoga demonstration from Visakhapatnam. This synchronized national participation symbolized India’s collective embrace of Yoga as a path to holistic well-being and global harmony.

 

 

In his remarks, Prof. Suman Chakraborty emphasized: “Have a regular practice of Yoga. At IIT Kharagpur, we are dedicated to the service of the nation. Yoga Day enables us to develop ourselves and nurture our inner soul and uplift society at large.” He also underscored the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister in taking Yoga to the world stage, making it a tool for global health and unity.

 

 

The event was graced by Swami Ekavratananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Calcutta Students’ Home, Belgharia, Kolkata, whose presence added spiritual depth to the occasion.

 

 

The Institute reiterated its commitment to integrating wellness and mindfulness into academic life, aligning with the broader vision of “One Earth, One Health” through ancient Indian wisdom.
