kharagpur: A goon with arms arrested in gatebajar cloth merchant extortion case sent to 4 days police remand by acjm kgp.  Fakira Nayek (25) of Nimpura, Harijan Basti arrested along with 1 fire Arms and 1 live ammunition. kgp t police second officer sukamal ghosh said, on wednesday we received a information that as per instruction of following two under trial prisoners namely J. Shankar Rao & Jasim, one Fakira, Farid and Chotu shall come at 12:00 hrs at garment shop of one Traki @ K Tarkeswar Rao of 36 para and will open fire at him for not paying the money what they wanted to extort. The garment shop is located at Gate Bazar and it is styled as “Lucky Collection”. Shankar Rao & Jasim who is in custody of Medinipur jail in srinu naidu murder case.  A police team led by SDPO, KGP Sri Sukamal Kanti Das, I/C KGP Sri Raja Mukherjee &others left for Gate Bazar. After arrival police ambushed themselves near the garments shop.  After a short while one Fakira Nayek,  paused just in front of a shop and took out a small gun from his waist and aimed towards the shop owner. Without giving him an iota of chance we cordoned him and asked him to handover the gun. police Seized the fire arms which was loaded with one round ammunition. IC raja mukherjee said On interrogation accused confessed his guilt in committing the crime of putting person in fear of death by using fire arms in ordered to extortion along with his other associates. He also stated that his other associates Mama & Santosh were present over their disguisedly few minutes back but getting the smell of police they fled away.
Fakira Nayek confessed his guilt & stated that the Gang is run by J. Shankar Rao, Jasim from Medinipur jail. They sent Instruction to Kishore Bishal @ Mama to organize local gang comprising Chotu, Farid, Fakira. The shop owner K Tarkeswar Rao said that few months back Shankar Rao called him from jail asked to pay him Rs. 50000/- what he denied the incident might be a retaliation of that denial.
 police imposed U/S 387/120B/34 IPC and 25/27 Arms Act against fakira. sdpo kgp sukamal kanti das said acjm kgp remanded fakira 4 days jail custody hope After interrogation we will crackdown the racket.
