Kolkata, Security Department of South Eastern Railway observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) at South Eastern Railway Headquarters, Garden Reach on saturday Shri D. B. Kasar, IG-cum-Principal Chief Security Commissioner, South Eastern Railway administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge to all RPF personnel and officials of Security Department. The Day was celebrated to observe the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The RPF personnel also conducted a parade.
The main objective of celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is to provide an opportunity to reaffirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the Unity, Integrity and Security of the Country.
Railway Protection Force (RPF) of South Eastern Railway does play a vital role for guarding the railway property as well as vital installations of railway. RPF also takes major initiative for safety & security of travelling passengers and foiling of miscreant activities all over South Eastern Railway network.
