हर साल, सर्दियों के महीनों में कोहरे के मौसम के दौरान, विशेष रूप से देश के उत्तरी हिस्सों में बड़ी संख्या में ट्रेनें प्रभावित होती हैं। सुचारू रेल परिचालन सुनिश्चित करने के लिए, भारतीय रेलवे ने कोहरे के मौसम के दौरान 19,742 फॉग पास डिवाइस का प्रावधान किया है। यह पहल ट्रेन सेवाओं की विश्वसनीयता में सुधार, देरी को कम करने और समग्र यात्री सुरक्षा को बढ़ाने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।

 

फॉग पास डिवाइस एक जीपीएस आधारित नेविगेशन डिवाइस है जो लोको पायलट को घने कोहरे की स्थिति में नेविगेट करने में मदद करता है। यह लोको पायलटों को सिग्नल, लेवल क्रॉसिंग गेट (मानवयुक्त और मानव रहित), स्थायी गति प्रतिबंध, तटस्थ खंड आदि जैसे निश्चित स्थलों के स्थान के बारे में ऑन-बोर्ड वास्तविक समय की जानकारी (प्रदर्शन के साथ-साथ आवाज मार्गदर्शन) प्रदान करता है। यह दृष्टिकोण संकेत प्रदर्शित करता है भौगोलिक क्रम में आने वाले अगले तीन निश्चित स्थलों में से लगभग 500 मीटर तक ध्वनि संदेश के साथ।

फॉग पास डिवाइस की सामान्य विशेषताएं:

सभी प्रकार के अनुभागों जैसे सिंगल लाइन, डबल लाइन, विद्युतीकृत और गैर विद्युतीकृत अनुभागों के लिए उपयुक्त।

सभी प्रकार के इलेक्ट्रिक और डीजल इंजनों, ईएमयू/एमईएमयू/डीईएमयू के लिए उपयुक्त।

160 किमी प्रति घंटे तक की ट्रेन गति के लिए उपयुक्त।

इसमें 18 घंटे के लिए बिल्ट-इन रीचार्जेबल बैटरी बैकअप है।

यह पोर्टेबल, आकार में कॉम्पैक्ट, वजन में हल्का (बैटरी सहित 1.5 किलोग्राम से अधिक नहीं) और मजबूत डिजाइन वाला है।

लोको पायलट अपनी ड्यूटी फिर से शुरू करने पर डिवाइस को अपने साथ आसानी से लोकोमोटिव तक ले जा सकता है।

इसे लोकोमोटिव के कैब डेस्क पर आसानी से रखा जा सकता है।

यह एक स्टैंडअलोन प्रणाली है.

यह कोहरे, बारिश या धूप जैसी मौसम स्थितियों से अप्रभावित रहता है।

Fog Pass Device Improves Reliability of Train Services, Reduces Delay & Enhances Overall Safety

 

Every year, during foggy weather in the winter months, a large number of trains are affected especially in the northern parts of the country. To ensure smooth rail operations, Indian Railways have provisioned 19,742 Fog Pass Devices during the foggy weather. This initiative marks a crucial step in improving the reliability of train services, reducing delays, and enhancing overall passenger safety.

 

Fog Pass Device is a GPS based navigation device that helps the loco pilot to navigate during dense fog conditions. It provides on-board real-time information (Display as well as voice guidance) to Loco Pilots regarding location of fixed landmarks such as Signal, Level Crossing gate (Manned & Unmanned), Permanent Speed Restrictions, Neutral Sections etc. It displays approach indications of next three approaching fixed landmarks in geographical order accompanied with voice message approximately 500m on approach.

• Suitable for all types of sections like single line, double line, electrified as well as non electrified sections.
• Suitable for all types of electric and diesel locomotives, EMUs/MEMUs/ DEMUs.
• Suitable for train speeds up to 160 KMPH.
• It has built-in re-chargeable battery back-up for 18 hrs.
• It is portable, compact in size, light in weight (not more than 1.5 Kg including battery) and of robust design.
• Loco Pilot can carry the device easily with him to the locomotive on resuming his duty.
• It can be easily placed on the cab desk of locomotive.
• It is a standalone system.
• It is unaffected by weather conditions like Fog, Rain or Sunshine.
