RAILWAY PROJECTS AND FLAGGED OFF NEW TRAINS

Ranchi – Varanasi Vande Bharat Express inaugurated from Ranchi

 

Kolkata, 12th March, 2024

Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi laid foundation stone and dedicated to the Nation about 6,000 railway projects worth over 85,000 Crores through video conferencing today (12.03.2024). Hon’ble Prime Minister virtually flagged off 10 new Vande Bharat trains, extension of 4 Vande Bharat Trains and other trains including Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express.

Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express started its inaugural journey from Ranchi Railway Station amidst an enthusiastic crowd. Several other projects of South Eastern Railway were also inaugurated and dedicated to the Nation. The Prime Minister dedicated Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs) at Sini Station in Chakradharpur Division & Kharagpur station of Kharagpur Division. Rail Coach Restaurants at Raurkela & Tatanagar, Goods Sheds at Nekurseni & Haludpukur and 52 Outlets of “One Station One Product” (OSOP) at different stations of South Eastern Railway were also dedicated to the Nation today.

Hon’ble Prime Minister dedicated 3rd line & 4th line between Ranital-Ranital link of Narayangarh- Bhadrak 3rd line project, Doubling of Pakra-Kurkura, Orga-Nawagaon & Bangurkela-Link C of Hatia- Bondamunda Doubling Project, Doubling of Jaroli-Nayagargh section of Banspani-Daitari-Jakhapura Doubling Project and 3rd line between Nimpura-Kalaikunda of Kharagpur-Adityapur 3rd line project. He also dedicated Goods Sheds at Nekurseni in Kharagpur Division and Hakudpukur in Chakradharpur Division.  For Multimodal Logistic Facilities, three Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals of SER were dedicated to the Nation.

 

During the flagging off ceremony of Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Deepak Birua, Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Schedule Tribe, Schedule Caste and Backward Class Welfare Govt. of Jharkhand, MPs, MLAs and other dignitaries were present at the function held at Ranchi Railway station. Shri Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager/SER, Divisional Railway Manager/ Ranchi, Senior Railway Officers and a large crowd were also present at the function.

In a function held at Bankura station of Adra Division, Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Union Minister of State for Education was present where One Station One Product Stall was dedicated to Nation.

 

Shri Bishweswar Tudu, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Tribal Affairs was present during the function held at Bangriposi station in Kharagpur Division. The “One Station One Product” Stall at Bangriposi Station was dedicated to the Nation during the function.

Colourful functions were also organised at other locations over Kharagpur, Adra, Ranchi and Chakradharpur divisions of South Eastern Railway.

SER TO RUN HOLI SPECIAL TRAINS

BETWEEN SANTRAGACHI AND DIGHA

 

Kolkata, 12th March, 2024

 

Keeping in view the extra rush of the passengers during Holi Festival, South Eastern Railway has decided to run Weekly Holi Special trains between Santragachi-Digha-Santragachi as per the following schedule:

02847/02848 Santragachi-Digha-Santragachi Weekly Holi Specials:

 

02847 Santragachi-Digha Holi Special will leave Santragachi at 09.10 hrs on 23.03.2024 & 30.03.2024 and will reach Digha at 12.45 hrs, the same day. In the return direction, 02848 Digha-Santragachi Holi Special will leave Digha at 13.10 hrs on 23.03.2024 & 30.03.2024  and will arrive Santragachi at 16.50 hrs, the same day.

 

02897/02898 Santragachi-Digha-Santragachi Weekly Holi Specials:

 

02897 Santragachi-Digha Holi Special will leave Santragachi at 08.10 hrs on 24.03.2024 & 31.03.2024 and will reach Digha at 11.55 hrs, the same day. In the return direction, 02898 Digha-Santragachi Holi Special will leave Digha at 13.10 hrs on 24.03.2024 & 31.03.2024  and will arrive Santragachi at 16.50 hrs, the same day.

 

The Special trains will have stoppages at Uluberia, Bagnan, Mecheda, Tamluk and Kanthi enroute.

 

RUNING OF HOLI SPECIAL TRAIN

BETWEEN VISAKHAPATNAM – PATNA – VISAKHAPATNAM

 

Kolkata,  12th March, 2024

 

Keeping in view the extra rush of the passengers during Holi Festival, It has been decided to run two pairs of  Holi Special trains between Visakhapatnam–Patna–Visakhapatnam leaving Visakhapatnam on 20.03.2024 & 27.03.2024 and leaving Patna on 21.03.2024 & 28.03.2024 as per the following schedule:

 

08517 Visakhapatnam–Patna Holi Special will leave Visakhapatnam at 09.25 hrs and will reach Patna at 09.35 hrs, the next day. In the return direction, 08518 Patna–Visakhapatnam Holi Special will leave Patna at 13.00 hrs and will arrive Visakhapatnam at 14.30 hrs, the next day.

 

The Special train will have stoppages at Vizianagaram, Srikakulam Road, Palasa, Brahmapur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Baleshwar, Hijli, Midnapore, Bishnupur, Bankura, Adra, Asansol,Chittaranjan, Madhupur, Jasidih, Jhajha, Kiul, Mokama, Barh and Baktiyarpur  enroute.
