GENERAL MANAGER FELICITATES WOMEN’s HOCKEY TEAM OF SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY, CONSISTENT GROWTH IN SER’s FREIGHT LOADING AND EARNINGS PERFORMANCE

 

A special women’s day celebration was held today at Hijli station. On 8th March, international women’s day, the station was fully operated by female staffs only. 

Hon’ble DRM Kharagpur Shri K.R. Chaudhary sir came to Hijli station along with other officials. Female staffs of Hijli station welcomed DRM sir with flowers. DRM/ KGP talked to the female staffs of the Hijli station. DRM/KGP flagged off the fully all women’s operated train from Hijli station.

A Parcel Express 00631 was flagged off by Hon’ble DRM Kharagpur Shri K.R. Chaudhary sir from Hijli station, this train was operated by Tanu Lekha Pal Loco Pilot, Tania Baitalik Assistant Loco Pilot and Train Manager Debashri Das. Station was operated by Station Superintendent Gita Kumari Das and station manager Satabdi Roy. DRM/KGP also inspected panel room and station premises.

 

 

SER TO RUN HOLI SPECIAL TRAIN

BETWEEN SHALIMAR – MALATIPATPUR (PURI) – SHALIMAR

 

Kolkata, 7 ^th March, 2024:

 

Keeping in view the extra rush of the passengers during Holi Festival, South Eastern Railway has decided to run one pair Holi Special train between Shalimar – Malatipatpur (Puri) -Shalimar leaving Shalimar on 24.03.2024 and leaving Malatipatpur on 25.03.2024 :

 

02839 Shalimar – Malatipatpur Holi Special will leave Shalimar at 21.25 hrs on 24.03.2024 and will reach Malatipatpur at 05.50 hrs, on the next day. In the return direction, 02840 Malatipatpur – Shalimar Holi Special will leave Malatipatpur at 23.50 hrs on 25.03.2024 and will arrive Shalimar at 08.50 hrs, on the next day.

The Special train will have stoppages at Santragachi, Kharagpur, Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Khurda Road enroute.

Shri Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager, South Eastern Railway felicitated the SER’s Women’s Hockey Team at SER Headquarters, Garden Reach today (05.03.2024).

The Women’s Hockey Team of South Eastern Railway has become the winner of 44^th All India Railway Hockey Championship, 2024 held at Kapurthala, Punjab from 21.02.2024 to 27.02.2024. In the finals, SER’s Women’s Hockey Team defeated Western Railway and emerged champions.

CONSISTENT GROWTH IN SER’s

FREIGHT LOADING AND EARNINGS PERFORMANCE

 

 

South Eastern Railway has loaded total 190.50 Million Tonnes of originating freight in the first eleven months (April-February) of the current financial year (2023-24) registering a growth of 3.80% in comparison to the corresponding period of previous financial year. During this period, the revenue generation from originating freight loading has also increased to Rs 17276.45 crore as against Rs. 16473.65 crore in same period of the previous year. Therefore, the earnings from freight loading has enhanced by 4.87% for SER.

 

SER has also registered a remarkable growth in earnings from loading of Iron Ore, Coal, Food grains and Fertilizer in the first eleven months i.e. April to February of the current financial year (2023-24). During this period, SER has loaded 97.03 Million Tonnes of Iron Ore, which is 5.46% more than the corresponding period of previous fiscal and 48.09 Million Tonnes of Coal, which is 3.02% more than the corresponding period of previous fiscal.

 

The main commodities of Freight loading during this period were Iron Ore, Coal, Pig Iron & Finished Steel, Cement, Fertilizers, Food grains, Petroleum Products etc.
