माननीय रेल मंत्री श्री अश्विनी वैष्णव जी ने बिहार के दौरे पर पटना पहुंचे जहां उन्होंने आज दिनांक 23.05.2025 को बिहार के माननीय मुख्यमंत्री श्री नीतीश कुमार से मुलाकात की तथा बिहार में रेलवे से जुड़ी परियोजनाओं पर चर्चा की ।
दिन भर के कार्यक्रम के दौरान माननीय रेल मंत्री श्री अश्विनी वैष्णव जी ने पटना से जमालपुर के बीच विंडो ट्रेलिंग निरीक्षण किया और अधिकारियों को आवश्यक निर्देश दिए। इस अवसर पर केंद्रीय पंचायती राज, मत्स्य पालन, पशुपालन और डेयरी मंत्री श्री राजीव रंजन सिंह उर्फ ललन सिंह और बिहार के उपमुख्यमंत्री श्री सम्राट चौधरी तथा श्री विजय कुमार सिन्हा भी उपस्थित थे।
जमालपुर पहुंचने के उपरांत केंद्रीय रेल, सूचना एवं प्रसारण, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्री श्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने जमालपुर स्टेशन का निरीक्षण किया । इस दौरान उन्होंने 30 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से जमालपुर स्टेशन पर चल रहे पुनर्विकास कार्यों का जयाजा लिया एवं अधिकारियों को आवश्यक निर्देश दिए ।
जमालपुर वर्कशॉप पहुंचने पर, माननीय केंद्रीय रेल मंत्री श्री वैष्णव ने अन्य मंत्रियों और गणमान्य व्यक्तियों के साथ वैगन निर्माण शॉप और क्रेन शॉप आदि का निरीक्षण किया तथा जमालपुर वर्कशॉप के उन्नयन के लिए 78.96 करोड़ रुपये के रूप में एक और सौगात देते हुए जमालपुर वर्कशॉप में वैगन पीओएच क्षमता वृद्धि परियोजना की आधारशिला रखी।
वैगन निर्माण वर्कशॉप में रेल मंत्री ने जमालपुर वर्कशॉप में निर्मित बॉक्सएन वैगन, बीएलसीएस वैगन तथा शौचालय युक्त ब्रेक वैन के निर्माण का निरीक्षण किया। क्रेन वर्कशॉप में माननीय मंत्री ने नवनिर्मित 140 टन क्रेन, 8-व्हीलर टावर कार तथा जमालपुर जैक का निरीक्षण किया, जो इस वर्कशॉप के विशेष उत्पादों में शामिल हैं। वर्कशॉप में केंद्रीय रेल मंत्री का जमालपुर लोकोमोटिव वर्कशॉप के कर्मचारियों द्वारा गर्मजोशी से स्वागत किया गया।
इसके बाद केंद्रीय रेल मंत्री ने इंडियन रेलवे इंस्टीच्यूट आफ मैकेनिकल एंड इलेक्ट्रीकल इंजीनियरिंग (IRIMEE) जमालपुर का दौरा किया, जहां उन्होंने वेल्डिंग, न्यूमेटिक्स, हाइड्रोलिक्स तथा मेक्ट्रोनिक्स जैसी इंजीनियरिंग की विभिन्न शाखाओं पर विस्तृत विकास योजना वाली ‘‘सेंटर आफ एक्सीलेंस‘‘ नामक पुस्तिका का विमोचन किया। इस पुस्तक में इंडियन रेलवे इंस्टीच्यूट आफ मैकेनिकल एंड इलेक्ट्रीकल इंजीनियरिंग, जमालपुर में इंजीनियरों के लिए इस प्रतिष्ठित प्रशिक्षण केंद्र में बुनियादी ढांचे, प्रशिक्षण सुविधा के उन्नयन एवं विकास के लिए वेल्डिंग, न्यूमेटिक्स, हाइड्रोलिक्स तथा मेक्ट्रोनिक्स विषयों पर कार्य योजनाएं शामिल हैं। 350 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से जमालपुर स्टेशन, इरमी और वर्कशाप का उन्नयन एवं विकास किया जाना है।
आज के परिदृश्य में आवश्यकता के अनुरूप एवं भविष्य को ध्यान में रखते हुए वैगन, क्रेन और जमालपुर जैक आदि के निर्माण के लक्ष्यों में लगातार बढ़ोतरी हो रही है जिसके लिए वर्कशाप के आधारभूत संरचना के विकास का भी लक्ष्य रखा गया है । जमालपुर लोकोमोटिव वर्कशॉप में वैगन पीओएच वृद्धि के लिए 545 से 800 वैगन प्रति माह की परियोजना की आधारशिला रखने के साथ ही वैगन ओवरहालिंग क्षमता 255 यूनिट प्रति माह से अधिक हो जाएगी। इस क्षमता वृद्धि परियोजना को लगभग 79 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से क्रियान्वित किया जाएगा। इससे टर्न अराउंड टाइम में सुधार होगा, वैगन की उपलब्धता बढ़ेगी और परिचालन में सुधार होगा।
वर्ष 2026 से इंडियन रेलवे इंस्टीच्यूट आफ मैकेनिकल एंड इलेक्ट्रीकल इंजीनियरिंग, जमालपुर में रेलवे के अधिकारियों के अलावा बाहरी लोगों को भी स्कील डेवलपमेंट की ट्रेनिंग की शुरूआत की जाएगी जिसमें मैकेनिकल, इलेक्ट्रीकल एवं इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स विषयों पर ट्रेनिंग दी जाएगी । यह इंस्टीच्यूट भारतवर्ष का एक उत्कृष्ट शैक्षणिक केन्द्र होगा जो मील का पत्थर साबित होगा ।
वर्ष 2009 से 2014 के मध्य बिहार में रेलवे के विकास के लिए प्रतिवर्ष औसतन 1,132 करोड़ रुपए आवंटित किए गए थे जिसे प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी के कार्यकाल में बढ़ाकर इस वर्ष 10 हजार 66 करोड़ रूपये कर दिया गया है, जो कि पिछली सरकार की तुलना में 09 गुना ज्यादा है। बिहार में जहां 2009-14 के मध्य औसतन प्रतिवर्ष 64 किमी नई लाइन का निर्माण होता था वहीं 2014 से 2024 के मध्य औसतन प्रतिवर्ष 167 किमी नई लाइन का निर्माण हुआ है जो लगभग 2.5 गुणा ज्यादा है । इसी तरह बिहार में जहां 2009-14 के मध्य औसतन प्रतिवर्ष 30 किमी रेलवे ट्रैक का विद्युतीकरण होता था वहीं 2014 से 2024 के मध्य औसतन प्रतिवर्ष 275 किमी रेलवे ट्रैक का विद्युतीकरण हुआ है जो लगभग 09 गुणा ज्यादा है । बिहार में 2014 से 1832 किमी नई लाईन का निर्माण किया जा चुका है जो लगभग मलेशिया के कुल रेल नेटवर्क के बराबर है । इसके साथ ही बिहार में 2014 से 3020 किमी रेलवे ट्रैक का विद्युतीकरण किया जा चुका है तथा बिहार में रेलवे का 100 प्रतिशत विद्युतीकरण हो चुका है । इन सभी प्रयासों से बिहार के सामाजिक-आर्थिक स्थिति समृद्ध होगी ।

भारत गौरव डीलक्स एसी टूरिस्ट ट्रेन के माध्यम से भारत-भूटान मिस्टिक माउंटेन टूर की एक अनोखी और अविस्मरणीय यात्रा 28 जून 2025 से प्रारंभ हो रही है। यह विशेष यात्रा दिल्ली के सफदरजंग रेलवे स्टेशन से शुरू होगी और पूर्वोत्तर भारत की आध्यात्मिक, प्राकृतिक एवं सांस्कृतिक विरासत को समेटते हुए भूटान के शांत और सुरम्य स्थलों तक यात्रियों को लेकर जाएगी।
इस यात्रा का पहला पड़ाव गुवाहाटी होगा, जहाँ यात्री नीलाचल पहाड़ियों में स्थित प्राचीन और पवित्र कामाख्या मंदिर के दर्शन करेंगे। यह मंदिर भारत के प्रमुख शक्तिपीठों में से एक है और देवी उपासकों के लिए श्रद्धा का केंद्र है। गुवाहाटी से आगे यात्रा शिलांग की ओर बढ़ेगी, जिसे ‘पूर्व का स्कॉटलैंड’ कहा जाता है। यहाँ यात्री प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य और सांस्कृतिक विविधता का आनंद लेंगे। इसके बाद चेरापूंजी की एक दिवसीय यात्रा कराई जाएगी, जहाँ ‘सेवन सिस्टर्स जलप्रपात’, ‘नोहकलिकाई फॉल्स’ और ‘एलिफेंट फॉल्स’ जैसे विख्यात प्राकृतिक स्थल यात्रियों को मंत्रमुग्ध करेंगे। इसके बाद समूह शिलांग वापस लौटेगा।
इसके बाद यात्रा अपने अंतरराष्ट्रीय चरण में प्रवेश करेगी। पश्चिम बंगाल के हासीमारा रेलवे स्टेशन पर उतरने के पश्चात यात्री सड़क मार्ग द्वारा भूटान में प्रवेश करेंगे, जहाँ वे फुंटशोलिंग के रास्ते थिंपू पहुँचेंगे। थिंपू पहुँचने के बाद यात्रियों को आसपास के वातावरण को जानने और स्थानीय संस्कृति से जुड़ने का अवसर मिलेगा, रात्रि विश्राम की व्यवस्था वहीं होगी।
थिंपू में स्थानीय महत्वपूर्ण स्थानों का भ्रमण कराया जाएगा, जिसमें मोतीथांग चिड़ियाघर, नेशनल लाइब्रेरी, पारंपरिक चित्रकला विद्यालय, हस्तशिल्प बाज़ार और भव्य चोए द्ज़ोंग जैसे स्थल शामिल हैं। इसके बाद यात्रा हिमालय की बर्फीली चोटियों से होते हुए ऐतिहासिक दोचू ला दर्रा के माध्यम से पुनाखा की ओर बढ़ेगी। पुनाखा में यात्री प्रसिद्ध पुनाखा द्ज़ोंग देखेंगे, जो फो चू (पुरुष नदी) और मो चू (स्त्री नदी) के संगम पर स्थित है और भूटान के सबसे सुंदर व विशाल द्ज़ोंग में से एक माना जाता है।
भूटान यात्रा का अंतिम चरण पारो में सम्पन्न होगा, जो अपनी सीढ़ीनुमा धान के खेतों, पारंपरिक फार्महाउसों और गहन आध्यात्मिक वातावरण के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। पारो में यात्रा के दौरान यात्रियों को लामपेरी रॉयल बॉटनिकल पार्क, भूटान की UNESCO टेंटेटिव सूची में शामिल तामचोग ल्हाखांग आयरन ब्रिज, विश्वप्रसिद्ध टाइगर्स नेस्ट मठ (तकत्संग ल्हाखांग) और भूटान का राष्ट्रीय संग्रहालय देखने को मिलेगा, जो इस हिमालयी राष्ट्र की समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक विरासत की झलक प्रदान करता है।

Another Step Towards Strengthening Railway Infrastructure in Bihar
Union Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting, Electronics and Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw laid the foundation stone for the Wagon POH Capacity Enhancement Project at Jamalpur Locomotive Workshop.
On this occasion, Union Minister of Panchayati Raj, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, and Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Samrat Choudhary and Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha were also present.
During his visit to Bihar, Hon’ble Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw arrived in Patna on May 23, 2025, where he met with Bihar Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar and discussed railway-related projects in the state.
Throughout the day, the Railway Minister conducted a window trailing inspection between Patna and Jamalpur, issuing necessary instructions to officials. Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Shri Samrat Choudhary, and Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha accompanied him during the inspection.
Upon arrival in Jamalpur, the Railway Minister inspected Jamalpur station and reviewed the ongoing redevelopment work being carried out at a cost of ₹30 crore, giving directions to ensure quality and timely completion.
At Jamalpur Workshop, he, along with other ministers and dignitaries, visited the Wagon Manufacturing Shop and Crane Shop. He also announced a new project worth ₹78.96 crore to enhance the POH (Periodic Overhauling) capacity for wagons.
In the Wagon Manufacturing Workshop, the Minister inspected the locally manufactured BOXN wagons, BLCs wagons, and brake vans with toilet facilities. At the Crane Workshop, he examined newly built 140-ton cranes, 8-wheeler tower cars, and the renowned Jamalpur jack – all signature products of the workshop. The employees of the workshop gave him a warm welcome.
He later visited the Indian Railway Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (IRIMEE) in Jamalpur, where he released a booklet titled “Centre of Excellence,” outlining detailed development plans for branches like welding, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechatronics. This booklet includes strategic plans for upgrading infrastructure and training facilities at IRIMEE.
A total investment of ₹350 crore will be made for the development and upgrading of Jamalpur station, IRIMEE, and the workshop.
Considering current and future needs, there is a consistent increase in the production goals for wagons, cranes, and the Jamalpur jack. With the foundation laying of the project to enhance the wagon POH capacity from 545 to 800 wagons per month, the overhauling capacity will rise by over 255 units per month. The project, costing approximately ₹79 crore, will reduce turnaround time, increase wagon availability, and improve operational efficiency.
Starting from 2026, IRIMEE will begin skill development training for the public in mechanical, electrical, and electronics fields. This institute is set to become a premier academic center and a milestone in technical education in India.
Between 2009 and 2014, Bihar received an average of ₹1,132 crore annually for railway development. Under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s tenure, this has increased to ₹10,066 crore this year—9 times more.
From 2009–14, an average of 64 km of new railway lines were constructed annually in Bihar, while from 2014–24, the average rose to 167 km per year—2.5 times more. Electrification also saw a significant boost from 30 km/year to 275 km/year—a ninefold increase. Since 2014, 1,832 km of new lines and 3,020 km of railway track electrification have been completed in Bihar, making it 100% electrified—comparable to Malaysia’s total railway network.
These developments are expected to greatly improve Bihar’s socio-economic landscape.
Union Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh praised the Railway Minister’s inclusive and detailed approach to development. Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Samrat Choudhary and Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha expressed their gratitude for the Railways’ contribution to Bihar’s progress.
MLAs Shri Pranav Kumar, Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, Shri Rajeev Kumar Sinha, and Shri Lal Mohan Gupta, along with General Managers Shri Chatrasal Singh (East Central Railway) and Shri Milind Deouskar (Eastern Railway), were also present.
Bharat-Bhutan Mystic Mountain Tour is the new offering of IRCTC by Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train.

After the successful operation of one-of-a-kind train tour connecting India with Nepal, IRCTC is all set to operate another singular tour connecting India with its other neighbour, Bhutan on ‘Bharat Bhutan Mystic Mountain Tour ‘commencing on 28.06.2025.
The 14-day tour starting from New Delhi will cover Guwahati, Shillong and Cherrapunji in North eastern part of India before proceeding for Hasimara Railway Station in West Bengal from where the tourists will be taken to Phuentsholing, the border town to enter into Bhutan. In the next 6 days, the group will be exploring Thimphu, Punakha, the erstwhile capital and Paro known for its natural beauty and sacred sites.
The train journey will commence from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station for Guwahati Railway Station. Needless to say, the first destination and essentially a transit point is the capital city of Assam, Guwahati. Darshan at Kamakhya Temple located at the heart of Nilachal Hills and one of the oldest and most hallowed of the Shakti Peeths, will be done here at Guwahati before continuing for Shillong popularly known as ‘Eastern Scotland” offering a mix of breathtaking landscape and vibrant culture. After experiencing a sunset over the Umium Lake viewpoint, the guests will arrive at the capital city of Meghalaya and settle down for the night. The next day is dedicated to a full day excursion to Cherrapunji, a city where the monsoons are legendary. Perched on the edge of the Himalayas, the tourists will be visiting the spectacular waterfalls viz Seven sisters’ waterfalls, the celebrated Nohkhalikai & Elephant Falls. Mawsamai caves offer a glimpse of the unique formations and underground pools. After a night rest at Shillong, the tourists shall be exploring Shillong early next day before retuning back to Guwahati. The day will end with a sunset cruise on the mighty Brahmaputra before boarding the train for onward journey to Hasimara Railway Station, the nearest railhead to Bhutan border.
Early next morning, the train reaches the Hasimara Railway Station where the tourists deboard the train and proceed for Phuentsholing immigration check point which is located around 20 kms away. After completing the immigration procedure, the tourists enter the capital city of Bhutan, Thimphu. With an evening free to reconnoiter the surroundings, the day ends with a night halt at the largest city of Bhutan. The next day is dedicated to the local sightseeing of Thimphu. Motithang Zoo, painting school, National Library and Thimphu Handicraft market will be a part of the day’s activities culminating in Tashi Chho Dzong (known as the Thimphu Dzong), a majestic fortress doubling up as a monastery and central secretariat of the Bhutan Government.
Early next day, the tourists will proceed for the erstwhile capital of Bhutan, Punakha. En route there is a halt at Dochula Pass, a mountain pass in the snow-covered Himalayas and a historical landmark. On arrival at Punakha, the guests explore the Punakha Dzong, one of the largest Dzongs in Bhutan which is situated near two rivers – the Pho Chu (Male River) and Mo Chu (Female River). Tourists pass through the suspension bridge to arrive at Dzong. Later the group stops over at the city for a night halt.
The group proceeds for Paro next day, the city famous for its terraced paddy fields and quaint farmhouses scattered throughout the valley. Lamperi Royal Botanical Park, Tamchog Lhakhang iron bridge – which sits across the Paro River and the iconic Paro Dzong (houses the district Monastic Body as well as government administrative offices of Paro Dzongkhag. It is listed in Bhutan’s Tentative List for UNESCO inclusion) are a part of the day activities. With a night halt in Paro, the next day starts with the venerated Taktsang Lhakhang (also known as the Tiger’s Nest), situated at the northern end of the valley. Later the guests visit National Museum has an intriguing collection of artifacts that provide a wonderful introduction to the rich culture and heritage of the Kingdom. Later in the day, the guest will experience archery session (national sport of Bhutan) followed by relaxing hot stone bath which uses medicinal water or Menchu. The day ends with dinner with cultural show and the last night at Paro.
Early next morning the group shall start its return journey by checking out and proceeding for Hasimara Rail Station after completion of border formalities. On arrival, they will board the train for Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station.
