भारतीय रेलवे ने यात्रियों की सुरक्षा, स्वच्छता और सुविधा को ध्यान में रखते हुए अपने नियमों को और अधिक सख्त कर दिया है। ट्रेन या रेलवे स्टेशन पर नियमों का उल्लंघन करने वाले यात्रियों पर अब भारी जुर्माना लगाया जाएगा। यात्रा करने से पहले हर यात्री के लिए इन नए जुर्मानों के बारे में जानना बेहद जरूरी है।
नीचे रेलवे द्वारा निर्धारित किए गए नए जुर्मानों की सूची दी गई है:
बिना टिकट यात्रा करना: ₹500* (अतिरिक्त चार्ज के साथ)
दूसरे व्यक्ति के टिकट पर यात्रा करना: ₹500
स्टेशन या ट्रेन में भीख मांगना या बिना अनुमति सामान बेचना: ₹2,000
नशे की हालत में यात्रा करना, हंगामा करना, थूकना या अपमानजनक भाषा का प्रयोग करना: ₹1,000 (यही गलती दोबारा करने पर ₹5,000 का जुर्माना)
बिना अनुमति के यात्री क्षेत्र (Passenger Area) में प्रवेश करना: ₹500
महिला डिब्बे (Women’s Compartment) में पुरुषों का प्रवेश: ₹2,500
ट्रेन के अंदर या रेलवे स्टेशन परिसर में धूम्रपान (Smoking) करना: ₹2,000
खतरनाक या ज्वलनशील सामग्री के साथ यात्रा करना: ₹10,000
रेलवे की किसी भी अन्य नीति का उल्लंघन करना: ₹2,000 (यही गलती दोबारा करने पर ₹5,000 का जुर्माना)
रेलवे प्रशासन ने स्पष्ट किया है कि इन नियमों का मुख्य उद्देश्य एक सुरक्षित और अनुशासित यात्रा का माहौल तैयार करना है। सभी यात्रियों से अनुरोध किया जाता है कि वे रेलवे के नियमों का सख्ती से पालन करें और अपनी तथा अन्य सहयात्रियों की यात्रा को सुखद बनाएं। नियमों का उल्लंघन करने पर रेलवे अधिकारियों द्वारा तुरंत और सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
Kharagpur Division Intensifies Ticket Checking Drive Following Revision of Minimum Penalty; ₹2.78 Lakh Realised
Kharagpur, 23 June 2026:
Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway conducted an intensive ticket checking drive today across major trains and stations under its jurisdiction to ensure compliance with railway travel regulations and protect railway revenue.
The special drive covered Train Nos. 12703, 12074, 12704, 18045, 18046, 12821, 68021, 38806, 38714, 68113, and 38051. Simultaneously, extensive ticket checking activities were undertaken at key stations including Kharagpur, Baleshwar, Andul, Santragachi, Mecheda, and several other stations across the division.
The drive focused on detecting cases of travelling without ticket, irregular ticket travel, and carriage of unbooked luggage. Ticket checking staff carried out thorough inspections to discourage unauthorized travel and ensure adherence to railway rules.
During the course of the drive, a total of 374 cases of ticketless travel, irregular ticket travel, and unbooked luggage were detected. A penalty amounting to ₹2,78,490/- was realised from the offenders.
The recent revision in the minimum penalty to ₹500 under the provisions of the Railways Act is aimed at strengthening revenue protection measures and promoting lawful travel practices. Kharagpur Division has intensified enforcement activities to create awareness among passengers regarding the revised provisions and to encourage the use of valid tickets while travelling.
Passengers are advised to purchase proper tickets before commencing their journey and to book their luggage as per railway rules to avoid penalties and inconvenience. Such ticket checking drives will continue to be conducted regularly across the division.
