kharagpur, Veteran singers Smt. Manju Bardhan Mallik and Smt. Subhra Gupta of decades old renowned Sargam Orchestra were felicitated on this occassion. Smt.Manju Bardhan Mallik sang a Telugu song which was applauded by audience. PNK Parishat’s Women’s wing organised this program in memory of Late Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar. 6 out of *7 Telugu Councillors, Smt. Puja Naidu(ward no 18), Smt. P Prabhavati(Ward no.20), Smt. D Vasanthi(Ward no.21), Sri. Bontha Murali(Ward no.15), Sri. B Harish(Ward no. 10) and Sri. Nageshwar Rao(Ward no.13) were Honoured* on the occassion. General Secretary of PNK Parishat said that this is for the first time in Kharagpur ‘s history that 7 Telugu Councillors have stood victorious and telugu community is proud of the winning candidates. Sri. Amit Mishra and Sri. Rahul Sharma were also present on this occassion. Sri. Kondal Rao, President, PNK Parishat graced the occasion with all members of the Parishat. Sri Kondal Rao said that he is proud see so many ladies joining PNK women’s wing since it’s formation and he also said that women’s empowerment has reached new heights. He was proud that his daughter Vasanti has won from ward No. 21 and he was proud to share the same stage with his daughter.
