खड़गपुर, पूजा में कानून व्यवस्था को बनाए रखने के लिए जिले में कुल 50 बाईक वाहिनी उतारेगी पुलिस जिसमें महिला वाहिनी भी होगी पश्चिम मेदिनीपुर जिले के एसपी धृतिमान सरकार ने आज रात पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए उक्त बातें कही।
शराबियों व ईव टीजरों पर होगी कार्रवाई
एसपी ने कहा कि पूजा में शराब पी कर हंगामा करने वालों व महिलाओं के साथ छेड़खानी करने वालों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की जाएगी। उन्होने कहा कि महिलाओं की सुरक्षा उसकी पहली प्राथमिकता है। लोगों की सुरक्षा के लिए जो 50 बाईक वाहिनी पुलिस उतारेगी उसमें से 17 खड़गपुर शहर के लिए होगी। एसपी ने कहा कि वह खुद बाइक चला लोगों पर नजर रखेंगे।
खड़गपुर के टोटो चालकों को राहत मिलेगी
खड़गपुर में टोटो पर पूरी तरह पाबंदी नहीं होगा हांलाकि ट्राफिक व्यवस्था दुरुस्त रहे इसका भी ख्याल रखा जाएगा। खड़गपुर नगरपालिका के साथ बैठक कर उचित हल निकाला जाएगा। पूजा के दौरान टोटो चालक की रोजीरोटी भी बाधित नहीं होनी चाहिए. खड़गपुर के टोटो चालक के लिए यह राहत भरी खबर है दरअसल मेदिनीपुर शहर में गैर नंबर टोटो को पूजा के दौरान प्रतिबंध लगा दिया था जिसके बाद यहां के टोटो चालक दहशत मे है। मेदिनीपुर के टोटो चालक ने विधायक जून मालिया के साथ मलिकर प्रतिबंध में ढ़ील देने की मांग की थी। 
26 को मेदिनीपुर में होगा जिले का सेंट्रली कार्निवल
एसपी धृतिमान सरकार ने बताया कि 26 अक्टूबर को मेदिनीपुर शहर में जिले का सेंट्रली कार्निवल होगा जिसमें खड़गपुर की पूजा भी शामिल होगी। उन्होने चेयरपर्सन से कहा कि बैठक कर यहां से श्रेष्ठ पूजा को ही कार्निवल के लिए भेजे।

खड़गपुर व मेदिनीपुर के बीच होगा मैराथन दौड़
एसपी ने कहा कि मेदिनीपुर व खड़गपुर ट्वीन सिटी है व दोनों के साथ समान व्यवहार करते हैं पूजा के बाद दोनों शहर के बीच मैराथन दौड़ प्रतियोगिता आयोजत करेगी पुलिस। एसपी ने कहा कि उसके खड़गपुर में आने से कुछ लोगों को तकलीफ हो रही है पर वह तो सिविल सेवक है व सिविल सोसायटी में आना उनका ड्यूटी है एसपी ने कहा कि खड़गपुर का जिले में काफी महत्व है। एसपी ने अपने भाषण ज्यादातर हिंदी में दिए व बांग्लाभाषियों को भी सलाह दी कि चूंकि यह कास्मोपोलिटन शहर है इसलिए हमें हिंदी में बात करना चाहिए ताकि दूसरे लोग भी सहज महसूस कर सके व एक दूसरे की संस्कृति को समझ आत्मसात कर सके।
खड़गपुर के पूजा गाइड का उद्घाटन व चेक वितरण
एसपी ने खड़गपुर शह के पूजा गाईड का भी उद्घाटन किया व इस अवसर पर कुल 175 लोगों को चेक देने की बात कही गई पता चला है कि खड़गपुर शहर से कुल 145 पूजा कमेटियों को इस साल 70 हजार रु का चेक मिलेगा। खड़गपुर ग्रामीण थाना के अधीन आने वाले कुल 25 पूजा कमेटियों को आज चेक दे दिया गया जबकि ग्रामीण थाना के बाकी लोगों को खड़गपुर शहर के सभी 145 लोगों को कल चेक मिलेगा। सुबह 10 बजे खड़गपुर शहर थाना जाकर कमेटियां अपना चेक ले सकती है। एएसपी राणा मुखर्जी ने कहा कि जिले के कुल 1310 पूजा कमेटियों को लगभग साढ़े नौ करोड़ का अनुदान इस वर्ष दिया गया।
जिलाशासक कादरी ने सद्भाव बनाए रखने की अपील की
पश्चिम मेदिनीपुर जिले के जिलाशासक खुर्शीद अली कादरी ने कहा कि खड़गपुर में बहुभाषी लोग रहते हैअली विभिन्न भाषा भाषियों का रहना ही इस शहर की खूबी है उन्होने लोगों को अच्छे से पूजा मनाने व सद्भाव तथा शांति बनाए रखने की अपील की। इस अवसर पर मानस भुईंया, खड़गपुर नगरपालिकाल के चेयरपर्सन कल्याणी घोष, एसडीपीओ दीपक सरकार, खड़गपुर शहर थाना प्रभारी राजीब कुमार पाल, खड़गपुर ग्रामीण थाना प्रभारी प्रणब पात्रो, विधायक दीनेन राय, जिला परिषद के सभाधिपति प्रतिभा माईति व टीएमसी के अन्य नेता पार्षद उपस्थित थे।

Marathon race will be held between Kharagpur and Medinipur
SP said that Medinipur and Kharagpur are twin cities and treat both equally. After puja, police will organize a marathon race competition between the two cities. The SP said that some people are facing problems due to his coming to Kharagpur, but he is a civil servant and it is his duty to come to the civil society. The SP said that Kharagpur has great importance in the district. SP gave his speech mostly in Hindi and also advised the Bengali speakers that since this is a cosmopolitan city, we should talk in Hindi so that other people can also feel comfortable and can understand and assimilate each other’s culture.
Kharagpur Pooja Guide Inauguration and Check Distribution
SP also inaugurated the puja guide of Kharagpur town and on this occasion it was said that checks would be given to a total of 175 people. It has been learned that a total of 145 puja committees from Kharagpur city will get a check of Rs 70 thousand this year. A total of 25 puja committees under Kharagpur rural police station were given the check today while the rest of the people of the rural police station & all 145 people of Kharagpur city will get the check tomorrow. Committees can go to Kharagpur city police station at 10 am to collect their cheque. ASP Rana Mukherjee said that this year a grant of about 9.5 crores was given to a total of 1310 puja committees of the district.
DM Qadri appealed to maintain harmony
District Magistrate of Paschim Medinipur district, Khurshid Ali Qadri said that multilingual people live in Kharagpur and the presence of people speaking different languages is the specialty of this city. He appealed to the people to celebrate the puja well and maintain harmony and peace.
