हिरण ने खड़गपुर स्टेशन में चल रहे विकास कार्यों का लिया जायजा, किया पोस्ट, 2026 में शहरवासियों को उपहार मिलने की जताई आशा
Shri Hiranmoy Chattopadhyay, Hon’ble MLA of Kharagpur Sadar today visited Kharagpur Railway Station to review the ongoing works under the Amrit Station Scheme aimed at transforming the station into a world-class facility.
During the review, the Hon’ble MLA discussed the current status and execution plan of the construction works with the Deputy Chief Project Manager (Dy. CPM), Gati Shakti Unit. He provided valuable suggestions on certain design aspects to further enhance passenger convenience and station aesthetics.
The discussions also covered utilization of newly created spaces and the provision of modern passenger amenities, including lifts, escalators, dormitory facilities, retiring rooms, and air-conditioned lounges in the new station building.
The Hon’ble MLA emphasized the importance of timely completion and instructed that all works be expedited to ensure that the redeveloped Kharagpur station is ready by December 2025. He expressed his vision to dedicate the upgraded station to passengers at the beginning of the upcoming New Year 2026, marking a significant milestone in passenger comfort and infrastructure development.
The Amrit Station Scheme at Kharagpur aims to provide state-of-the-art facilities, improved aesthetics, enhanced passenger amenities, and seamless connectivity, reaffirming the commitment of the Railways to offer world-class travel experiences.
