Special Ticket Checking Drive Conducted by Kharagpur Division
Kharagpur, January 24, 2026:
Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway conducted a special ticket checking drive today across several important trains and stations under its jurisdiction to curb ticketless and irregular travel and to ensure compliance with railway rules.
During the drive, intensive ticket checks were carried out in the following trains: 12703, 12704, 12074, 12073, 12828, 12860, 12813, 12871, 12021, 22892 and 12841.
As a result of the operation, 203 cases of ticketless/irregular travel were detected and a total penalty of ₹1,18,330 was realised from the offenders.
In addition to onboard checks, intensive ticket checking was also conducted at major stations, including Kharagpur,Baleshwar,Digha, Mecheda and other stations across the division.
Kharagpur Division remains committed to ensuring hassle-free and lawful travel for genuine passengers. Such drives will continue in the future to discourage ticketless travel and to improve passenger amenities and

RUNNING OF SPECIAL TRAINS
BETWEEN SHALIMAR AND NSCB ITWARI

To clear extra rush of the passengers, it has been decided to run Special train as per following schedule:
08871/08872 NSCB Itwari-Shalimar-NSCB Itwari Special:
08871 NSCB Itwari-Shalimar Special will leave NSCB Itwari every Monday from 26.01.2026 to 09.02.2026 at 17.10 hrs and will reach Shalimar at 14.00 hrs, the next day. In the return direction, 08872 Shalimar-NSCB Itwari Special will leave Shalimar every Tuesday from 27.01.2026 to 10.02.2026 at 18:00 hrs and will arrive NSCB Itwari at 15.35 hrs, the next day.
The Special train will have stoppages at Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Tatanagar, Kharagpur and Santragachi in SER jurisdiction.
