








Kharagpur Division Intensifies Special Ticket Checking Drive to Curb Ticketless Travel

In a continued effort to curb ticketless travel and enhance proper ticketing practices, Kharagpur Division has intensified its special ticket checking drive across suburban trains and key stations. The initiative aims not only to discourage unauthorized travel but also to promote the use of various ticketing facilities and improve window ticket sales.
As part of this drive, special squad checking was conducted by ticket checking staff in coordination with the Railway Protection Force (RPF). Extensive checks were carried out in several suburban train services, including Train Nos. 18038, 38805, 38707, 38515, 38716, 38903, 38905, 38912, 08117, 68113, and 12858.
Simultaneously, focused checking operations were conducted at various stations across the division, including Panskura, Sahid Matangini halt, Tamluk, Mecheda, Santragachi, Domjur, Bagnan, Maju, Maurigram, Nalpur, Fuleswar, Jaleswar, Rupsa, Basta, Radhamohanpur and other stations
During the course of this intensive drive, a total of 157 cases of passengers traveling without tickets or with irregular tickets were detected. A sum of ₹76,075 was realized as penalty from the offenders.
Kharagpur Division reiterates its commitment to ensuring fair travel practices and appeals to all passengers to travel with proper and valid tickets. Such drives will continue in the future to maintain discipline and enhance passenger convenience across the railway network.
