AIDSO has arranged a community kitchen at Kharika in Sabang sub- division of Paschim Medinipur district providing meals for 700 people. The community kitchen was initiated by comrade Bratin Das, secretary of AIDSO, Paschim Medinipur district committee. About 20 students from neighbouring areas served as volunteers in this noble effort.
bratin said incessant rainfall and the undeliberate releasing of excessive water from the barrages inundated large swathes of land in Paschim Medinipur. Thousands of people were homeless and marooned , spending their lives under the starry sky on high lands. There is a huge scarcity of food and drinking water in the flood affected areas. All India DSO, a students’ organization holding high the noble ideals of Renaissance has stretched its helping hand for the wretched humanity.
অতিবর্ষণ ও ব্যারেজগুলি থেকে অপরিকল্পিত ভাবে জল ছাড়ার ফলে, পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার বিস্তীর্ণ এলাকা ভয়াবহ বন্যাকবলিত । হাজার হাজার মানুষ উঁচু রাস্তার উপর ত্রিপলের নীচে কোনরকমে দীন কাঠাচ্ছেন, খাদ্য-পানীয় জলের ব্যাপক সংকট দিয়েছে । নবজাগরণের মহান মানুষদের আদর্শকে বুকে বহন করে অসহায় মানুষের পাশে দাঁড়ানোই একমাত্র কর্তব্য বলে মনে করে ছাত্র সংগঠন এআইডিএসও । এই কর্তব্যকে পালন করার জন্য আজ পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার সবং ব্লকের খড়িকা গ্রামে ৭০০জন মানুষকে কমিউনিটি কিচেন করে খাদ্য দিল এআইডিএসও । এই ত্রান শিবিরে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সংগঠনের জেলা সম্পাদক কমরেড ব্রতীন দাস। এলাকার প্রায় ২০ জন ছাত্র স্বেচ্ছাসেবকের ভূমিকা পালন করে ।
