Governor of West Bengal Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose visits IIT Kharagpur

November 20, 2023, West Bengal, India: The Governor of West Bengal Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose visited IIT Kharagpur today. His entourage visited the Centre for Computational & Data Sciences and witnessed the demonstration of supercomputer Param Shakti. He also visited the Centre of Excellence for Indian Knowledge Systems, Nehru Museum of Science & Technology and Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Superspeciality Hospital of the institute.

 

Speaking on the Governor’s visit to the first IIT of the nation, Prof. Amit Patra, Deputy Director, IIT Kharagpur remarked, “It is a moment of pride for IIT Kharagpur to welcome the Governor of West Bengal Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose. His presence in the campus was celebrated with great enthusiasm and his ideations towards the modern education system combined with ancient Indian roots was noteworthy. He promised us to visit again and spend more time with faculty and students.” 

 

 

Shri Ananda Bose serving as the governor of West Bengal since 17 November 2022, he was appointed as the Governor of West Bengal by President Droupadi Murmu. He has held the rank of Secretary to Govt. of India, Chief Secretary, and University Vice-Chancellor and holds a PhD from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Having joined IAS in 1977, he had the opportunity to introduce innovations in good governance which could ensure speedy and effective delivery of public services to the people. He authored 32 books in English, Malayalam and Hindi including novels, short stories, poems and essays.

20 नवंबर, 2023, पश्चिम बंगाल, भारत: पश्चिम बंगाल के राज्यपाल डॉ. सी.वी. आनंद बोस ने आज आईआईटी खड़गपुर का दौरा किया।राज्यलिखी ने अपने दल  के साथ सेंटर फॉर कम्प्यूटेशनल एंड डेटा साइंसेज का दौरा किया और सुपर कंप्यूटर परम शक्ति का प्रदर्शन देखा। उन्होंने संस्थान के भारतीय ज्ञान प्रणाली उत्कृष्टता केंद्र, नेहरू विज्ञान एवं प्रौद्योगिकी संग्रहालय और डॉ. श्यामा प्रसाद मुखर्जी सुपरस्पेशलिटी अस्पताल का भी दौरा किया।

 

आईआईटी में राज्यपाल की यात्रा पर बोलते हुए, आईआईटी खड़गपुर के उप निदेशक प्रोफेसर अमित पात्रा ने कहा, “पश्चिम बंगाल के राज्यपाल डॉ. सी.वी. का स्वागत करना आईआईटी खड़गपुर के लिए गर्व का क्षण है। आनंद बोस. परिसर में उनकी उपस्थिति बड़े उत्साह के साथ मनाई गई और प्राचीन भारतीय जड़ों के साथ आधुनिक शिक्षा प्रणाली के प्रति उनके विचार उल्लेखनीय थे। उन्होंने हमसे दोबारा आने और संकाय सदस्यों और छात्रों के साथ अधिक समय बिताने का वादा किया।”

 

ज्ञात हो कि श्री आनंद बोस 17 नवंबर 2022 से पश्चिम बंगाल के राज्यपाल के रूप में कार्यरत हैं, उन्हें राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू द्वारा पश्चिम बंगाल के राज्यपाल के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया था। उन्होंने सरकार के सचिव का पद संभाला है। भारत के मुख्य सचिव, और विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति और बिड़ला इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी एंड साइंस, पिलानी से पीएचडी की उपाधि प्राप्त की है। 1977 में आईएएस में शामिल होने के बाद, उन्हें सुशासन में नवाचार पेश करने का अवसर मिला, जो लोगों को सार्वजनिक सेवाओं की त्वरित और प्रभावी डिलीवरी सुनिश्चित कर सकता था। उन्होंने उपन्यास, लघु कथाएँ, कविताएँ और निबंध सहित अंग्रेजी, मलयालम और हिंदी में 32 पुस्तकें लिखी है ।
